Anyone happy with their Ionic?

Is anyone happy with their Ionic? Is yours fully working and syncing? It seems most discussions here are about the problems, but looking at different stores online the reviews are still mostly positive. I can't tell if the one I have is just never going to work or it's a firmware issue that could be fixed. Right now I'm leaning towards this one is never going to work, but then I'm not sure if I should get a new one or not.

I'm happy with my Ionic, in fact i'm very happy.

I got my Ionic for christmas and ive not experienced any of the issues that some have on these forum pages. I am a charge 2 user as well so was already familiar with the app.

My watch syncs every time. Ive never had a problem loading music although it can take around 45 mins to fill the memory with tracks, i suspect thats maybe more to do with my poor wifi connection than the watch.

I bit the bullet and signed up to Sterling for fitbit pay here in the UK and it works like a dream, the sterling app is very sleek on the phone and payment update is instant to the app.

Some have had issues with the weather app, but again, im lucky and mine works.

Ive had no issues doing the updates other than retraining my brain to where things have moved to

heart rates are on a par with my charge 2 and the gps gives me the same data as when i used to run with my charge2 using connected gps.

I would buy another

I would add that i feel sorry for all those who have experienced problems with their watch and hope they get theirs sorted soon, when it is working right....its a great piece of kit.

Are you saying that they have sold something that wasn't really ready yet?  That, as a consumer of a 300.00 dollar item, makes me a bit angry....  Why is this even remotely acceptable????

It would be nice if Fitbit got all their ducks in a row on the Ionic. My Blaze was great, never any issue. The Ionic started out ok (got it for Christmas). Set up in a half hour or so. I asked for it so I could get GPS exercise tracking without having my phone with me and at first it was trouble free. The trouble started when I flew to another time zone. It figured out the new time zone without any input from me but it was never the same when I returned to the original time zone. I gave it 2 days to sync the time but it never did so I started looking online for an answer. I now experience all the ridiculous sync issues people complain about on this blog. Too old to return so I'll just drop it in a drawer and go back to the Blaze. Next time I'm interested in exercise tracking I'll go look at Garmin.

Ionic should not have been released in 'beta'.

PS - I forgot to mention it decided by itself several times to reset itself in the middle of a run. I had to restart it but I lost the first part of the run each time. However, on many long hikes (3-4 hours) it worked perfectly.

I have just sent mine back and I understand that it will be tested to see what the problem is.
Hopefully we shall all benefit in the long run from the knowledge to be gained.
I am still having to use my Blaze.

I am not very happy with my Fitbit Iconic at the moment.  I boutght around December 2017 and now the touchdown does not work at all.  I followed the reboot instructions and the customer reset factory, the touchscreen still not working.  Just got a software update and the issue still not resolved.

I am a bit disappointed, not even six months and for the touchscreen to stop working is not something that I expected to get damage on the iconic.   I paid $250.00 from Best Buy and to me this is not acceptable.

I doubt I will get a refund,  it just wanted let my frustrations be known.

Has anyone else had the same issue?

Ed

Your Ionic is still under warranty. You may not get a refund but you will certainly be entitled to an exchange. You can either take it back to Best Buy or contact Fitbit support

I meant to say the touch screen no longer works.
With that said, if I send this back to Fitbit are you saying I would not
haven't I pay full price for a replacement?

Yea mine don't either about 3 times out of 30 or so. My biggest problem is I still can't get it sync on comand. I've only got it to sync about 4 times since I've had it 12/24/18 out of 20 or so tries. My other problem it don't count steps  . My brother-in-law gets like ~900~ steps and I get like 45 or some very very low number. Is there any way to adjust them? See I use a walker with wheels, don't know how it count steps, all I know is it don't gout mine. For the money my wife paid for this I am not very happy with it!

@Myabby- Because you use a walker, your arms are not moving as much and therefore the ionic is not detecting the correct amount of steps. I have found this to be the case with both my Charge2 and my Ionic - when I push a shopping trolley around the supermarket I do a lot less steps according to the watch then when I walk around normally.

My experience with the ionic is terrible. Calibration message every day, inaccurate heart rate, app does not display calories burned for chosen activities. Fitbit do not solve the issues and will not even entertain the idea of replacing my watch. I paid £300 for a brick

Had the charge2, worked well. As a gift I got the fancy Ionic. in march 2018.

The watch has nothing but problems. Calling customer service they will run you through an hour of resets and trouble shooting.

Tracking your sleep is hit or miss, the charge tracked perfectly every night.

The real issue comes when FitBit sends out an update. It forces you to update the problem is it does not like to update, many times it says it cant find the watch yet its connected and you can see you active HR.

then it will tell you your blue tooth is not working, then it will try updating via wifi but it cant find avalible net works.

since March I have had to do a complete factory reset on the watch 3 times, delete all traces of the watch on your phone and computer and start over, this process takes no less then 2 hours and takes alot of retrys.

Between yesterday and today I spent way to much time trying to get the update on the watch with customer service so the alert of an update will go away.

this was many hours, of phone time, email time, deleteing and reseting. With still no fix

Final fix was for me to send it in and in about 10 days they will send me a new one.

Something they should have done when I first called instead of wasting time repeating the dreaded trouble shooting.

Im declining the replacement and returning the IONIC garbage back to the store.

Two many other trackers to choose from then to waste time on trying to install updates. I am a man why do I need to install an update that tells me when my period is??? Great job fitbit

I have the charge 2 as well and had no issues. I received the Ionic for Christmas and been happy with it until the last 2 months.  Syncing has been a nightmare and all of the sudden it doesn't play well when Charge 2 is being sync'd as well. So...let us say 5 out of 10 scale. Also, I paid for the weather app and it only works like 45% of the time.  I won't invest in any more apps.

Reading the same thing over and over again on different forums it has something to do with fitbit. Its ashame that they want to waste so much time trouble shooting our phones and computers. Trouble shooting this is very time consuming. I understand that all apps need to be updated from time to time but it should not take hours to complete or fail. This app is by far the most frustrating app to update. Since customer service had me unpair the ionic my phone can no longer find the ionic to pair. Even after turning bt off restating the phone and turning bt back on and restarting the watch.  So frustrating. I can go to lowes and buy a brick for a $1. This $250 brick was a mistake to purchase

It seems if the ionic is fully charged, it can be paired again.
