Awful syncing (or lack of it!!) on Fitbit Ionic !!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hey Fitbit developers, this still isn't fixed despite numerous threads where you claim it is!!

How may times do I have to remove and add the ionic, reset the Ionic, reset my phone, uninstall and reinstall the app, delete the bluetooth connection from my phone and other workarounds you suggested before you fix this??! I'm using an iPhone 7 plus and the syncing is erratic at best and so the product is utterly useless as it doesn't update my dashboard so therefore I can't see the impact of my calories burned versus my remaining allowance....amongst other things! When it does partially sync (as sometimes it doesn't even update all information tiles) the next time I open the app it resorts to the pre-synced activity.

This is really not good enough for a premium device.  Please give me a target date of when this will definitely be fixed not some rubbish about you're working on it and are aware of the issue!

Maybe you should try changing the syncing so that it syncs with the app before it syncs with your servers? Dreadful! Considering returning this and getting a Polar or Nike iwatch!

This continues to be an issue for me as well.  Is there continued development going on with FitBit Ionic?  Is there a public roadmap we can look forward to?  I would prefer to not request a different smartwatch for Christmas but the functionality and usability gaps are pretty large at the moment.

I got an Ionic for Christmas and have had a disastrous time trying to sync music/podcasts.  The estimated transfer time went from 11 minutes to 20 minutes and then stayed at 16 minutes for about 5 minutes.

I also am having issues with syncing and notifications.  My Ionic will not "All Day" sync with my Iphone 8+, therefore, I do not get notifications or messages.  I have removed and reinstall the app and rebooted the Ionic over six times.

I just got the Ionic a few days ago and I saw the behaviors described here too with my Samsung S7:

1. Syncing is inconsistent and breaks often. To get it to work may need to stop and start Bluetooth, kill and restart app, or reboot.

2. All day sync does stay connected and does not work consistently thus making notifications useless and untrustworthy. Likewise the other options to keep alive also seems to crash.

3. Incomplete sync, for example if I add water intake via Ionic, it may or may not sync.

I like the watch, but very dissapointing that the developers cannot get this basic feature to work.

Thanks for the reply SantiFitbit. Unfortunately syncing is still unreliable and incomplete. For example, sync will still fail and manually starting a sync will often fail. As another example, not all the water intake entries from the watch make it over. If it does, the tile does not always show the correct amount unless I go into the tile, then it will update.

Hopefully this will be resolved soon. but thanks for the suggestions.
