Back country hiking gps

I'm planning to go on a back country hunting trip, I was wondering if there if a way to set like a home base point on a map and my watch could lead me back to the camp if I get turned around?

Hi @Royalauthority

There are a couple of map apps in the app gallery, but I don't think either will do what you want them to do (although I've not tried either). Also bear in mind that they would still need to connect to your phone for an Internet connection (to download/update map tiles). So in this case it may be more user friendly to just use your phone in the first place.

The only app I know of that would to what your asking is the Geolocator

This is designed for Geocaching but has the option to save current location that can then be named Base 1

There are also Nav Buddy, Simple Nav (And Waypoints $) - I believe they allow you to enter specific GPS Coords ahead of time if you know where your going to camp - or you can add the coords once you get there. I use Waypoints to set up routes ahead of time.  Works Ok.
