I have had my Ionic since Wednesday last week. So far I get 2 days of battery life and I don't use GPS or music streaming. I have turned off the sync all day feature but that only helped a bit. Full charge at bed time, 92% when waking up. 80% at 10am and now at 55% at 4pm. What is going on? Is anyone else having issues???

I have managed 6 days of battery life on mine. You may have a bad device. Exchange it.

My Ionic is on its 4th day since fully charging, with the GPS being used while exercising for 2 hours a day for 3 of those day, and the battery level is still showing a 54%.

Having the same issue. Not using GPS or music, I go through about 40% of the battery each day.

40% a day seems bonkers. Is it on all the time. One day and two nights of it being charged (no GPS) but full notifications and I have 73% left.

I had an issue with battery drain overnight. The fix that work for me was turning off all day sync and the Always Connected option right at the bottom of the Ionic settings in the app. See if that works.

I changed the all day sync off yesterday. Where is the always connected option?

I am getting a replacement from Amazon. Thanks!

The Ionic has better battery life than the Blaze, for me anyway. The Blaze would get about 4 to 5 days. The Ionic is good for 6, easily.

I really hope that mine is just a dud and my replacement will be better. We will see.

I'm actually having to return mine. I wish I would have waited to buy at a store instead of pre-ordering. My watch will not hold more than an hour of battery life on a full charge. It dissipates within an hour. I'm returning the watch today by mail to Fitbit and will buy at Best Buy to ensure an easy return in the event that there are issues with the next one.

My app looks different, huh? Wonder why?

Try restarting it and see if that improves it. If not, contact Support.

Yours is the iOS app, the other one is the Android version. I don't believe the iOS version has the option for always connected.

I have my fitbit ionic watch for about 2 to 3 months now. In the beginning the battery lasted for about 4 days. (So never the promised 5 days)
I have been noticing lately that the battery only last for 2 to max 3 days, even when I’m not exercising a lot. (=not using gps)
Is this normal? Charging every 2 days for a couple of hours is a lot I find.

Hoe must I contact support to see if I need to exchange my ionic?

I received my watch for Christmas and after the first charge it lasted four days. However, now it is only lasting anywhere from 2 to 3 days. I have turned off the Wi-Fi and even turned off the heart rate monitor, but still no improvement. I have already installed the latest update. Any idea what is going on? Do I have a defective watch?

I bet most people have the GPS on, and "auto-start" for some activities, such as run/walk.
When the GPS runs, it's a pretty big draw, much more-so than my Suunto (ski/riding watch, mostly), I'd be surprised if it managed 10 hours of activity with GPS.
If you do "non-GPS" walks or whatever, or disable the GPS as part of "auto start", it'll bring your battery drain WAY down, I'm going on 3 days now, at 71%, vs 1.5 days, in the 40% range, when I let it track a couple of 2-2.5 hour rides. Still doing long rides, but letting the HRM be my "gauge", instead of the GPS, kind of inaccurate for calories, but good enough for me (I have a pretty good idea of my calories, I road-raced for quite a few years).
Hopefully Fitbit will allow a "granularity" adjustment on the GPS, so that it's only "sampling" occasionally, this is what makes my Suunto so "thrifty" with battery life. I only use the 1-second intervals if I really want to know how fast I'm skiing a race course, but otherwise, I run it in 1 minute intervals, which tracks my whole day on the mountain, with maybe a 15-20% battery draw...
Think about it, tracking 60 times/minute, and the corresponding CPU/memory draw too, and you see why a "basic" GPS setting drains so fast.
I'd love to have a "low GPS" mode on my Fitbit...

I have the GPS on for runs, but turned off the auto-start feature. But if I understand it correctly, the GPS only turns on when you begin the exercise correct? The GPS is not actually active all the time? If not, can you completely turn off GPS until you want it?
