Got the Apple Watch 4 and it is impressive. Leaves Ionic in the dust. I
have three inoperable Fitbits in a drawer and one sent back. Lot of money
wasted.

I was doing my laps in the pool and my ionic logo came on and stayed on foot a while.  I couldn't turn it off. I took it off and finished my laps.  When I checked it, the screen was black and the sensors in the back were off.  It heats  up when im charging it but no sign of life.  I need help

I just had exactly the same issue with mine, not sure what caused it, but I got it replaced under warranty

Staggering to see how many of these queries there are. Exactly the same ones.  Same happened to my ionic.  I noticed on here that it doesn't matter how long you have the device for.  Some people's were replaced.  I was told mine is outside the warranty period so I need to buy a new one. Also told that FITBIT HAS NO REPAIR FACILITIES. in TWO THOUSAND AND NINETEEN.  Amazing! Hilarious! Think I am digressing here.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My thoughts after the news was: Why did I not go Apple in the first place.  So essentially I want to confirm that Apple has been way better?

Unfortunately it seems that there are a lot of issues with the ionic. My ionic suddenly died about two days ago after only  7 months. As it is still within warranty I will get a new one for free, but now I am greatly concerned about the overall quality of the ionic. I still have a fitbit surge that works fine after 3.5 years  and I am using it while I wait for a replacement ionic. I am now regretting the choice of upgrading as I feel that the replacement ionic may be as short lived as its predecessor based upon the numerous complaints of a similar nature on these forums. If this is the kind of quality to be expected of fitbit products then suffice to say that I will no longer purchase fitbit products in the future.

Does not sound good. If it is less than 1 year old contact FitBit now.
Try sticking the watch in a baggie of rice for a couple of days. Then try
a reset, hold the left and bottom buttons for about 10 seconds (until you
see the logo appear) then let go. I would not put power to the watch
unless you are sure there is no water inside.

Good luck,

Thanks Greg and all others for the feedback, I was eventually offered a discount on a new purchase which doesn't quite solve the problem. The device started working again but well below standard.  A screen that operates at half capacity when it feels like it, and some other issues.  Think I've given up and can't think of another purchase that left me with more regret.  Hope Fitbit does better for their future customers.

My son Ionic went blank a few days ago and we tried reset it with no success. He is quite sad and he used to check his activity ( a 10 years old dynamic boy) everyday. What would be the next step from here? Apprecuate any advise guys!

Hi there, hopefully the situation is not permanent on your side as it turned out with mine.  Fitbit has some troubleshooting advice which might work and I hope it does because if it doesn't, then they don't offer much in terms of making up for a device that seems to have had defects since it was created.

Hindsight is the best teacher as always and with that in mind my best advice or lesson is to have chosen another provider in the first place, but I guess there is not much that either of us can do with this info now 🙂

Good luck to you and your son, I was and still am equally sad about my "late" Ionic which is currently resting in peace.

I had this exact seem issue today. I got my Ionic in June of this year.  It just vibed and then the screen went black.  I was at 50% power earlier today when i checked.  Ive reset it with the 2 bottom buttons 5 times now. I get the fitbit icon and then release and it wont come back.  Last synced 19 minute ago then i hit sync again on the app and it says synced a moment ago.

Really disappointed with this device.  This is my 3rd fitbit over the years.  I've never had one go **ahem** up so quick.

My one year fitbit has a blank screen. Fully charged, I can feel it vibrate when I touch the side button but nothing else happens.

I am having the same issue. The green light is running/blinking, and the watch buzzes when I get a notification, but the screen is blank. I've done the reset with the buttons, but nothing comes up. The app says my watch is fully charged and is actively syncing.
