Calorie counter

I understand how the calorie counter works and that it takes into account BMR and it takes into account calories burnt while sleeping, but.....it’s telling me I’m burning 5 thousand calories a day. I don’t need a calorie counter to know that I am no where close to that. What could this be a result of.

Usually excessive calories are due to an incorrect profile setting for age, height, weight etc. It's worth a quick check of yours at https://www.fitbit.com/user/profile/edit

Thank you for getting back to me. My profile settings are correct. What
else could it be. Again I appreciate your help on this. I’m super
frustrated because it’s telling me at times that I’m burning 7k calories in
one day. The most I should be burning on a super active day is around 4.

I'm struggling to see what else it could be. Is your step count looking reasonable? I'm wondering if it's counting far too many steps and the calorie burn is reflecting that.

As you're not getting much help from the user community you may well want to contact customer support. They may be able to see the problem from the server side. You can get them via: contact.fitbit.com

I thought about contacting them. I think that is probably the best course
of action at this time. Thank you for taking the time to reply on this. I
really appreciate your help. Take care.
