Can not pair my Huawei mate 20 pro

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi I cannot pair my ionic with my Huawei mate 20 Pro. When I turn on the Bluetooth my phone will not pick up my watch so I unable to get notifications. I guess my phone is not supported and if so any idea if my mate 20 Pro will be supported in the near future?

Thanks.

The Ionic is just horrible trying to sync or even setup on any phone. It's hit and miss all the time. Sometimes it's fast and flawless orthers slow and problematic. I've tried on several phones, apple, moto and Huawei... It's always the same. My old blaze works flawless on everything. Ionic was just pushed to market as a flawed device to generate revenue. Fitbit was in the red until just recently so I'm sure it was out of desperation. Seeing as the company is profitable again how about fixing the syncing issues with the ionic. I mean just comb through the boards you'll see thousands of people having syncing nightmares with the ionic and they can't All have phones not on the supported list now can they.  There's an app on Google store for sync fix between fitbit and Huawei phones, I'm using it on a Huawei mate se and it's working quite well. App is 5.00 USD

It's good to see new faces on the Community @ProjectAdam33. I appreciate the tips that you've shared with other users among the Community. Sorry to hear about the syncing issues that you've had with your Ionic. If your mobile device isn't listed as compatible this might be the reason why it doesn't have a good connectivity.

You can always try this syncing troubleshoot but I can't confirm this will fix the inconvenience. If your device isn't listed on this article. As mentioned before, Fitbit is always trying to add new devices to the list and keeps testing mobile devices.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hey there @LAM31E and @JoanGabrielle56. Welcome to the Community.

Currently, the Huawei Mate P20 Pro isn't listed as supported. However, you can always try the syncing troubleshooting steps mentioned on this article Why won't my Fitbit device sync?. I can't confirm that this will sync smoothly because it hasn't been tested by our team at Fitbit.

I'll be around if you need further assistance. Hope this helps.

I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I've had it for 2 weeks and I had trouble to start with, but after reading about turning off the battery saving feature in the Huawei settings I've had no issues at all. Read the post above regarding how to turn off the battery saver for the FitBit app

Can people please get a constructive answer to the following question? When will the Fitbit Charge 3 or any other Fitbit be made compatible with the Huawei Mate 20 pro as mine is terrible at syncing and notifications and I'm fast losing my patience with the Fitbit and will be seeking a refund on my device as it's also recently started having very poor battery life .

Really not impressed with the product.

I totally understand your frustration as a Huawei owner myself. As far as support all you'll get here is the usual trouble shooting rheto... Restart this, remove this and reinstall that... On and on. You have to add fitbit app to the the battery optimization exclusion list on your device. That'll solve most of your sync issues. Here's a link on how to do it.

http://nine-faq.9folders.com/articles/16876-how-to-turn-off-battery-optimization-on-the-huawei-devic...

Also there's an app on Google play store that will solve the rest of your issues. Fitbit Syncfix for huawei device. I did both of these and no longer have any issues syncing my ionic to my Huawei. The app is unfortunately $5.00 USD.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hu.czandor.fitbitsyncfix

In regards to battery life that sounds life a defective unit. You may have to an RMA.

The fitbit development team doesn't seem interested in fixing compatibility issues with Huawei as these issues have long since been reported with no real attempt being shown and fixing them. Which is disappointing as Huawei is the second best selling brand in the world. Doesn't make much sense from a business standpoint to me, but what do I know.

Thanks for your input mate I tried what you suggested but my settings bar was different to the one in the link so I think either the link is outdated or my phone is just running a different version of Android so sadly wasn't able to alter the setting you mentioned but I'll try that app on the Google store if the problem continues which I feel it might .

Hi, I am unable to connect to the GPS with my fitbit ionic. Does pairing the ionic with the Huawei mate 20 Pro affect the GPS connectivity?

I just reset the watch and paired it to another iPhone. Hopefully it will resolve the GPS issue. According to the fitbit help desk, pairing the watch with the Huawei mate 20 Pro first will result in the GPS not working. Will update if there's any new development.

Hi, @DeePhang , ai am not sure you received entirely correct information.  The Ionic has a stand alone GPS chip which should work even if the watch is not paired to any phone at all.  I have tested this myself and can confirm. I expect there was some confusion between Fitbit’s “connected GPS”, which does need a paired phone, and the stand alone chip of the Ionic.

However, hopefully resetting the watch will help.  Also, as I am sure you are aware, tall buildings or dense tree cover can adversely affect GPS.  In addition connection may be very slow if you have travelled a long distance (several hundred miles) from where you last connected.

Has the GPS on your Ionic ever worked?

Thanks Julia. This is the same understanding that I have, which is the GPS on the ionic do not depend on the phone. However, the fitbit support had advised me otherwise.

I just bought the ionic last Sunday and have not been able to get the GPS to work yet. I have reset the watch several times.
