Changing screens on its own

Yesterday, my Fitbit Ionic randomly started changing screens on its own and is still doing it. I’ve tried doing factory resets but it isn’t working. Only 2 years old. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi @MsD04, it sounds like something is malfunctioning in the watch.  Have you contacted Support?

Hi Silvia

This started happening on my Ionic this morning, I have restarted it several times and tried a few different (all Fitbit created) clock faces and the error persists.

Hi

Fitbit have now replaced my Fitbit free of charge although outside the warranty. I understand this was a faulty update that they released. My Fitbit eventually stopped working all together and wouldn’t even charge

Hi @SilviaFitbit I have not yet logged an issue, not sure why it is saying I have. I will however log an issue with support now.

To be fair Lars this isn’t the first time. My ionic got screwed up last year with the charging function. You would plug t in to charge and it pops up with a message to say it wasn’t charging!!. I bought replacement chargers to get same message only to fid it was charging despite the message. i kept hoping an update would fix the issue which was widely reported on forums but they seemingly weren’t interested.

Mine is doing the same.   Only 1 year old.   Very frustrating.   Tried changing face.   Not sure how to restart the watch.   Can't find advice on your help pages

Hi Susie,

‘’you have a two year warranty on fitbits. Both times it happened for me it was the updates from Fitbit that caused it. On both occasions Fitbit replaced them free of charge

My Fitbit Ionic started changing screens  yesterday. I’ve tried resetting the watch several times which has not corrected the problem. My watch is about 2 1/2 years old. I love the watch but this screen changing is driving me nuts.

Hi Jackie

I have now had 5 ionics as a result of warranty claims. Sadly my warranty will lapse in June as you have 2 yrs within eu purchase. Fitbit have confirmed that they dont renew the warranty each time they replace the watch. An odd replacement I can understand but 5 suggests to me the quality isnt in the product. If it breaks again out of warrantyI will buyy another brand. My concern is I went for the Addidas version (mainly for the strap lol) which cost a hefty £299. However the ionic is the worst in quality terms in my view. I raised it with fitbit but they seem uninterested frankly. Your issue sounds like mine and it led to the eventual failure of the watch. The problems start each time they do an update for the watch. This seems to cause catastrophic failure but as I said fitbit arent interested in addressing what seems to be a fundamental issue with the make.
