Yeah, I have the same problem with email notifications - it's not even appearing as an option to select it in the settings.

I was having problems with getting notifications from the regular mail app. I had to download a secondary app for emails I used the yahoo mail ap and set up notifications to the phone in a “banner” which allowed the Fitbit to acknowledge it was a notification sender...???
-then go into the Fitbit app on your phone
-sync with Fitbit
-choose the top left watch icon
-choose notifications
-choose app notifications
-swipe down to update list
-if your mail app pops up your good
