Erroneous step counts while not being use

Had my Ionic since February.  Started to have step count issues when not wearing it, sleep, charge, shower etc..... Made sure it's not near vibration etc.... Reset, shutdown etc....

Finally call customer service.  Appreciate the transparency (unlike what I read on the community comments). Rep stated its a hardware issue with "my" Ionic and offered to replace it with refurbished one or 50% off a new one.

Trying to stay optimistic about the replacement, will see.......

The warranty does reserve the right to replace what the a refurbished unit. The box will also clearly be marked as refurbished.

I just got my Ionic today and it is overcounting steps by a large number.  Who does one contact for help to resolve?

The Fitbit can ntsct link can be found in the time please right.

Have you set up the hand settings, keeping in mind that for some the active hand may not be the dominant hand.

I would try a restart or shutdown.

A note on the ionic, it counts steos s by looking at arm movements, find bit does a pretty good job but not perfect. May I ask what was happening during the false steps counted.

Understood. Fitbit claimed the refurbished units are returned items but had not been use. Mine is six months old, therefore I feel a little cheated.

Funny thing is mine Ionic does not have step count problem when I am wearing it. ONLY when I took it off, sleep/charging/shower etc..... Fitbit specifically told me its an hardware problem. I am surprised given so many people with the same issues. quality control issue with product made in China.
