Factory reset fail

I have been having issues with my phone not finding my ionic, wont sync nothing. I tried everything I could that I found in this forums even talked to customer support. Ended up factory resetting my phone, and now its stuck on the data not cleared sync and try again and I can't do anything with it! Help! Side note the customer service person said when I get that message it is indicative of a successful reset which makes no sense to me

Go onto the fitbit app on your phone and remove the Ionic from your account, then go into your phones Bluetooth settings and unpair the Ionic. Then proceed to set up new device. Your phone should now find your Ionic again.

I've had the same problem. I have the red X with the message about data not clearing and try syncing again. I've unpaired it from the app and tried setting it up again but it won't work. I select Ionic from the list of trackers, click "Set Up Your Fitbit Ionic" and then it just goes back to my Account screen in the app. Very frustrating. This is my second Ionic in 5 months as the first one had major display issues. Before that I had the charge and charge 2, both of which I had to replace for display issues. Fitbit trackers are just not reliable!

My phone just installed a new update for the fitbit app and it's letting me setup the Ionic now. Fingers crossed it all works when it's done updating!

I got a message at the end of setup saying my data wasn't cleared and to try again, but it seems to be working anyway. My notification settings have been retained; all I've lost are my apps, which I can easily re-install. Bit of a faff, but at least it's working again

Spoke too soon. After all that my original problem for having to do the factory reset has returned. My display is still flashing on and off at 2 second intervals! Arrghhhh!

Now in similar boat. Watch wasn't syncing. Removed app, removed device, factory reset, soft re-boots, d. all of the above. Watch is stuck in set-up mode. Even tried seeing if I could sync it to my laptop. Nada. Pushing buttons does nothing, screen just scrolls through the available languages telling me to head to fitbit.com/setup. Smiley Sad

Finally go it. After no luck syncing with phone I tried with laptop. Still took a while but finally found it and began uploading. God that's a slow process. Stopped it. Did a soft reset and tried with mobile again. Found it! Still a very slow process though.

I’m having the same issue. Fit bits four months old and screen stopped working. Locked on reset failed and I’ve tried everything.
