It would be beneficial to have the option to turn off step counting while charging if a simple vibrating fan can make it count steps (according to customer help line) then just turn it off. 40,000+ steps when sitting on a night stand is ridiculous. Please make this a feature - sooner than later since this has obviously been a problem for a long time (reviewing community posts).

@Beardy_Ward Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for sharing the ideas you would like to see for Ionic in the future! Interesting idea!
I recommend posting your idea on the Feature Suggestions Board. This is the best place to ask for the feature you would like to have on your Fitbit device. Users can vote and comment for your idea to make it popular.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you create a new suggestion!

Surely it would have made sense to have programmed the software so that it does not count steps whilst charging automatically, as the watch cannot be worn whilst on charge anyway.

@Beardy_Ward Thanks for your reply and for creating a new feature suggestion. I added my vote to your idea. @Davem10 Let's give it some time to see if users would like to have that too.
In the meanwhile, take a look at the Discussions Board as you will find a lot of interesting things there. Feel free to post on any thread you want. If you are looking for Fitbit friends to compete with on challenges, check this thread to add some!

Thank you @SantiR Of course, I am aware of how a democracy operates. Just showing a little enthusiasm for a good idea.
I would be very intrigued to hear any reasons against the suggestion. It’s not really an added feature but a bug fix.
I’ve heard many users have been having issues with this. I have seen one very loyal Fitbit user return his Ionic and switch to another brand due to this problem.

That would be a pretty good idea and it would seem a simple software tweak.
