Hi all
Just upgraded my blaze to the ionic and have been checking out the various clock faces. Tried a few with no issues then spotted the Blaze arc. Brilliant. Just what I’m used to I thought! however when I select it, it requires permissions. Why? And who’s getting the information?

@LilMissShaz Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for sharing your concern about the permissions that clock face is asking. Also, thanks for sharing the picture.
Just as @SunsetRunner and @WavyDavey said, those permissions are requested by the app to display that data on its face. It is for the clock face to work properly. Don't you worry, nobody is getting access to your data.
There are also a lot of clock faces at the Fitbit App Gallery. Feel free to check them out and select any other that you like if you are not sure about this one.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

The clock face program requires your permission to receive the listed data from Fitbit App to display on the clock screen. There is nothing diabolical about it. If you don't want to give your permission, get a different face.

Hi @LilMissShaz,
The app is requesting those permissions because of data the clock face wants to display. You are free to not grant the permissions, in which case the clock face won't be able to display those types of information.
As to the "who", it's the Fitbit app that's requesting access to the information. This shouldn't be a problem, as all your data is already on Fitbit's servers. You're just giving the app permission to access it. Hope this helps.

@Jimkuhl Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for sharing the workaround that helped you sort this out.
I'm sure this will be helpful for other users too. I will leave the steps on how to install clock faces on Fitbit watches here for other users who might like to try this.
Hope this helps. See you around!

That didn't answer the question of who gets the data.
Does the third party developer have access to it?

@Founder Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to post your inquiry about the clock face permissions.
Third party developers don't have access to your data. Permissions are only used for the Fitbit app to transfer the data shown next to the check marks to the watch. All the clock faces need these permissions.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

How do you grant the permissions? I am having the same problem with my clock face but the app won't allow me to give permission

A warm welcome to the Community @jsaintg. You need to accept those permissions right above the install button. If you're not seeing where to accept the permissions, then provide me with a screenshot of what you're seeing on your app.
Hope this helps. I'l be around if you need further assistance.

I think I messed up the order of things yesterday when I tried to reset my watch to default settings.
I would like to try installing/reinstalling the clock face, but my Fitbit app does not have a "clock face" selection to choose a new, or update the old clock face. What if anything can I do? Thanks!
Kelly

A warm welcome to the Community @kstamper05. I appreciate the screenshot that you've shared and the details mentioned. Sorry for the delay reply.
It seems that your Ionic was unpaired from your account. This is why you're not able to change clock face, please follow the set up procedure again. Once, it has been paired to your account, you can change the clock face.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.
