Fitbit Ionic Not Syncing Completely?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I noticed tonight that my fitbit ionic hasn't synced my workout today or my sleep... Seems to have synced my steps though? Is anyone else having this issue? I keep trying to force sync and it still says last sync was 7ish last night.... Even did a reset of the watch

Mine starts then stops says it’s looking.  Feeling like I have an expensive wrist band on - I’ve updated my phone, the Fitbit app - last sync was over 14 hours ago. This has been going on for the last week.

Syncing is difficult at tne moment so you are not alone. I find persistance pays off. Just keep tryi g and eventually it syncs. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Sync issues seem to be a well-known issue with this tracker.  Although I don't know when or if they will be resolved, I can suggest a few things:

Your syncing device:

Go into your Bluetooth settings and unpair the Ionic from your phone/tablet./computer.  Then go back into the settings and re-pair it.

Force close the app.

Log out and back in.

Shut down the device.

Switch to a different syncing device (this option worked for me in the past).

From the Ionic:

Do what I like to call a "soft reset" which often solves many issues (this often works when the device either freezes on me or freezes during the syncing process).

Do a Factory Reset (I believe the instructions are outlined in one of the Pinned Posts)

Charge the Ionic.

Another thought would be to wait and sync during an off-time when the Fitbit servers aren't so busy, as they can only serve so many people at a time.

Do you have all day sync & always connected enabled?

If not, try enabling them.

I do have them enabled! I thought at first that was the issue... but still having issues

Tried Soft reset
Tried Unpairing/repairing bluetooth ----> Doesn't even show up on my phone now after unparing... I'm thinking it may be a bluetooth issue....

Still is syncing steps and cals and distance and all that... but nothing else?

when you un-pair it, are you going into your Bluetooth on your phone and making sure it is not there before re-pairing it?

Sometimes you have to forget the device to get it out of your Bluetooth on your phone.

I’m having a similar issue now but when I go back to sync again with the four digit code it throws back a 403 forbidden error. I can’t even pair my ionic back 😞

Don't know how, but one of my runs synced! Nothing but steps since last Wednesday. Very disappointing as I ran a half marathon on the weekend and it appeared to be working - recorded the distance and the time, but because I can't sync, I can't look at my km times! Very frustrating!

Yes, FitBit, can *someone*, chime in here, to the multiple sync threads, there are a lot (with a TON of posts with the same failures).  Moderator, can you please alter the support person(s) who watch these boards?

I'm in the same boat, not able to sync mine since 1/10, right after the (Win10) 22.9 app update, from 22.8.  I don't have proof that the app was it, but it started to fail syncs almost an hour post-update, and has never worked since.

I'd have to get a second phone, or a new tablet (my Android tablets' battery is totally shot, maybe 3-5 minutes at a time, plugged-in, before it "shuts down to charge"), as apparently sync'ing via Windows is hosed, for a LOT of users, right now.

I'm using my Charge2 again, for now, contemplating, but unless FB starts to "own" things a bit, I'm likely going to return, and go with Garmin (or Suunto, since I already have a setup for them for skiing), they seem to have close to zero sync issues.

Having similar issues with sync, I bought this yesterday and I've had issues with it from the start. It's not looking very good since most of these posts are 2 months old and still no solution? I still can't believe I haven't found a helpful comment from Fitbit on here. Very disappointed and I'll return it before the deadline if this keeps up.

I know how frustrating it is since I had similar problems a couple of months ago. I did a couple of resets and then finally it just spontaneously "healed" and I've had no problems since. I hate to change to another device since I love the tracking program I have been using for 3 devices now going back to Fitbit early days. They had better get on top of these issues or lose a lot of customers. Just about the next time mine takes a dirt road I am going to the Apple Watch or something.

Can you please remove all WIFI connections in the Ionic settings (not your smartphone settings) and tell us if it worked?

I understand that this might be helpful to others but as if this morning I do t receive notifications on my ionic, I'm not going to mess around with it until Fitbit puts in some effort to let us know what's going on. I've read so many posts and very little contribution from Fitbit. Not looking good so far.
