Fitbit Ionic crashes when double tap on excercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Before the latest firmware I used to double tap on the exercise I wanted to select and then tap "play button" to start tracking, now if you double tap on one of the exercises for example "swim" or "run" the watch crashes. Seems like single tap is the other way to start it which is what i use now (single tap was not doing anything at all prior to this update).

Just wanted to give you a heads up on this.

My fitbit just went black. It will not turn back or charge. I tried to clean the pins and charger and still black screen. Can you help please?

My Iconic tracker was working great until about a month ago when the screen suddenly went black and I could not get it to charge.  My husband and I fiddled around with it and tried charging it to different chargers, and just as suddenly as the screen went black, the tracker charged up!  I wore it for about 4 hours and the screen went black again.  That happened twice.  I think it is dead, but am not sure.  Everyone who wrote about the same problem on this forum was contacted directly by Fitbit support so I have no idea if their problem was solved or not.

Hi Maria,

Even after trying everything my fitbit doesn't turn on. It had 98% battery but suddenly turned off in the morning and I see last sync was at 512 am. Please help to solve. I tried all ur suggestions. I have been using the same for 1.5 years.

I am having the same issue. It was at full charge and then died during the day. After 10 hours of charging in different ports and in my computer and giving it a clean still nothing. I have had this Ionic for less than 2 years. What's going on?

Ionic 3 weeks old. Died during playing football last night. Won't charge and won't turn on. Battery was about 80% at start of sport and died half way through and now won't take charge. Black screen. Charge contacts clean, tried to charge with various charge types including USB to PC and nothing. Very disappointed.

Something is seriously wrong with the Ionic.  And for Fitbit not to replace after a year is horrible.  I have had my fitbit for two years but warranty is only for a year. So, fitbit gave me 25% off my next purchase of a new fitbit.  I have used fitbit ever since they came out.  I am seriously considering moving on to a new device.

My Ionic was working this am at 70%.  Now it is dead, will not take a charge, and is totally dead. I have tried the restart.  Nothing.  This is my third Ionic.  I had to pay for this one (with a discount).  I am so discouraged.  I love the software, but I can't keep dropping this kind of cash for something that is constantly failing.

I felt the same way. You should not have to buy a new watch after two
years. I went ahead and bought the Apple Watch. A hard as it was to get rid
of Fitbit, I now LOVE the Apple Watch

This worked for me!  I had to hold all 3 buttons down for 10 seconds. Then, my Ionic came back on and I was able to charge it.

David,

Thank you so much! That instruction worked. I never had a reason to try all 3 buttons before. All of the other instructions I read said to use 2 buttons, not 3. I held all 3 buttons for 10 seconds and BAM, the Ionic watch did a very long reboot and then came up to the main screen and began recharging.

Thank you so much for your help. I just knew i want going to have to go through the hassle of replacing it.

My first Ionic lasted 8 mos. It froze and could not be revived. Fitbit sent me a new one. Now, 8 mos later, my new Ionic is stuck on the Fitbit logo. Nothing will make it work. Now, I understand that there is a one year warranty, but a $300 watch should last more than 8 mos. The 25% discount offered is not a good enough answer for a 2 time failed watch at the 8 month point. Please send me a new or refurbished watch. I am very disappointed.

Good luck. I have had my first Ionic fail after 8 mos. The second one also
failed at 8 mos. My wife's is failing after 3 mos.
Customer service was of no help since now I am out of warranty. I just
bought a Versa2, and am hoping it will last longer than 8 mos.

I have had my Ionic watch for a year now and it works pretty well. if you let it go dead, you have to reboot while on the charger for it to come back to life. Use the 3 button boot procedure and it should come back.
