Ha I have an Apple Watch and don’t like it for fitness. But I did just order a Garmon vivioactive 3. Makes me sad to have to break up with Fitbit I was with them so long. But every model I tried there was an issue within the year.

One thing that I have discovered with charging the iconic device that has helped.  I could put the device in the charger and leave it all night.  Get up the next morning and the device hasn't charged.  What I noticed is if I feed the charging cord thru the band loop/buckle, it keeps the charging cord more stable.  This has worked for me 2 times so far.

This has happened to me twice now.  Any idea on what the cause is?

A consumer product like Fitbit shouldn't require such workarounds. After Fitbit eventually replaced my dead Ionic the present unit has worked fine for about 3 months. But Fitbit should have worked out such problems long ago - and should own up to their developmental miscues. I hope the company succeeds and like the product but most consumers don't want to be involuntary beta testers.

The software had some bugs. Try to update your Fitbit device as soon as
possible to stop the dead screen. After the last update, my ionic is ok.
Other thing you can do is trying to recharge your Fitbit before the battery
shows 0%.

Since I did the last update it's ok. I always rechange with 5% battery or
more remaining. Don't let the Fitbit dead again... 😜

Fitbit needs to recall the ionic, too many problems.  I'm on my second one and it doesn't hold charge (have to charge daily and that is without it connected to my phone and does not have any apps downloaded),  doesn't count steps or stairs accurately, heart rate is irregular and it will track that I'm asleep when Im up and moving around.  It's a useless price of garbage.  It had been nothing but disappointing to myself and too many other's out there.  Just scrap the model and recall them at least that way MAYBE, just maybe you won't lose every customer! Burned too bad!

It appears my third Ionic just failed!  I agree it’s time for them to admit that it’s a piece of crap and recall it. I am a long time Fitbit customer, but it looks like I may have to give up and go to Apple
