Mine isn't dead but it might as well be. First the heart rate kept registering even when I didn't have the Fitbit on. Now today it wouldn't sync anymore. And I have now noticed the time is off. Last time the time was off they had to replace my Fitbit. That was only after 6 months of use. Wonder if they will replace it again as that was a year ago? I find this item kind of expensive to have to be replacing every 6 to 12 months. I have reset the Fitbit numerous times today and nothing.....

To reset your Fitbit you press the left button and the bottom right button at the same time for a few seconds. Once you get the dotted diamond let go and wait.

My Ionic has died at approx 18 months. I have written to Fitbit support and they said I qualify for a complimentary replacement. That would normally sound like good news except that there is almost a month and they didn't even ship the replacement. When I wrote them numerous times they reply with 'blah blah apologies', 'doing everything that we can' email...nothing specific.
As I said, almost a month has passed and I still have no date for delivery or at least an update from them.
This is outrageous!
Shame on you Fitbit!

WOW. That is terrible. When Fitbit sent me my replacement last summer I had it within 2 or 3 days and I am in Canada.Something must have got lost in the process. Try again and phone this time. I did mine by phone and he processed it immediately while I was on the phone with him.

Okay so I had given up on mine last night and finally went to bed. This morning I thought I would give it one more try. Even though the charge was at 70% I plugged it in. Just looked at it and the charge is 99% and everything has corrected itself.
If for some reason you can't charge yours, you can clean the contacts on both the charger and the Fitbit with a Q-Tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. Don't use to much liquid though, use very little, just a damp Q-Tip. Fitbit customer service told me this months ago when I couldn't get mine to charge. Worked like a charm. Give it a few minutes to dry afterwards before plugging it in again.

It's not that. It's simply dead.

Go through all the troubleshooting steps (make sure your connections for charging are clean etc etc), and if that doesn't work call support. It sounds like since your watch is less than a year old you'd qualify for a warranty replacement.

I did all that. The problem is that Fitbit is simply not sending the replacement

Same problem here, just suddenly dead. I knew it was fully charged when I shut it down on Saturday night so that's not the problem. There clearly is a software glitch that's occurred as evidenced by the many similar complaints that are showing up on the forum this month.

My Ionic suddenly died too! Was fine yesterday, this morning nothing. I've taken all steps (after reading posts) and nothing helps. This is simply awful! Seems like there is no fix, and my Ionic is over a year old now. BUMMER!!!

Same issue here. My ionic just DIED on the night of the 7th. Since its 18 months old, there is no warranty. I was offered 40% off another, but you cant use it on the regular site and take advantage of the sale. So basically, its disposable, not repairable and we get no added incentive to replace it, because the discount is offered to the general public too. Amazon PRIME days has at least an additional 15% off the $199. The customer service team was rather matter of fact, which is disappointing as I own other items too. Makes we want to switch to Garmin quite frankly.

but no acknowledgment from customer service that the issue stemmed from their update. rather disappointing.

I called on Sunday afternoon as mine died as well and the replacement was at my house by Tuesday morning
super happy with their customer service
the things they had me try was
left button and bottom button on right side hold for 12 seconds
then all three buttons for 12 seconds then release only the bottom right one and hold the remaining 2 for 12 seconds
didn’t help
but may help others

Was yours still under the 12 month warranty?
Also why does Europe get 24 months warranty but North America only gets 12 months warranty?

Hi
I am happy, went to the reseller where I bought the Ionic in February. They just gave me a new Fitbit Ionic. No problem

Great you got a new Ionic and what you'd hope for since it was still under warranty. I retried the above mentioned 3 button hold with the immediate 2 button hold, then release and got a different result and now have a red "X" in a red circle and the statement "Data Not Cleared, Synch & Try Again". Too bad I can't do that as the Bluetooth doesn't recognize the Ionic any longer.
