Fitbit Ionic will not charge or power on

I've had intermittent issues with this Ionic over the course of the last 9 weeks and 6 days that I have owned it. It is especially frustrating considering the price of the device. This is my first FitBit and I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

No matter what I do the display will not show "charging ??%" when plugged into the charging cable and will not power on at all.

I've followed the steps for cleaning the contacts both on the USB charging cable and the Ionic itself. https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2005 Here is the article I used.

I've tried resetting the device multiple times using the following steps:

"

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If your Fitbit Ionic doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again."
  4. "https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Ionic/Ionic-screen-won-t-turn-on/td-p/2939167"

As stated previously - the device does not power on --- or appear to recognize any charge connection.

At this point it has been plugged in for 2 hours. I have tried 3 different USB ports on my computer. In addition I have taken the wall charger from my LG phone (V10) and plugged the charging cable in to that. (computer is out of the equation now), I have also taken the Wall charger from both my Samsung tablet (Tab A) and my grandson's Amazon Fire (7th Gen, 7") tablet and plugged the charging cable in there as well.

So to recap:

Cleaned contacts: Check

Reset Device: at least 20-30 times Check

Tried different USB ports & Different power connections: Check

Allowed Device to charge even though it did not show 'Charging ??%" on the screen for at least an hour: Check

Result:

Absolutely nothing - black screen, no response from the device.

I contacted support this morning. After attempting a full reset 3 times they're replacing the Ionic tracker. I should have the replacement in 5-7 business days.
