Hi, everyone! I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19) At this time, we've released Fitbit OS 2.2 to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
IS THIS UPDATE AVAILABLE TO ME?
This update has only been released to a small group of Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa users. If you have not yet received an update notification and wish to force the update, you can give the watch a FACTORY RESET and then follow steps 1 - 4 below. Please make sure you sync the watch before performing the reset so that all your current data transfer over. Factory resetting your device clears all data from the watch including music, Fitbit Pay information, and apps. Historical Fitbit data will still be available in the Fitbit App.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here. We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Ionic, please follow these steps:
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Hiya,
I tried all the troubleshooting steps, however stuck after doing factory reset. I cannot continue further and update since my watch doesn't allow me. watch just shows, data not cleared, Sync & try again. I have sync several times but still the same error message comes up. Its really annoying.

@Purrstachio you have not missed any updates. 32.10.20 was the previous release. 32.12.19 is the current release. Fitbit does not release versions sequentially to customers.

Okay, so the 27 in the front doesn't mean anything? Thanks for clearing that up for me. Actually, with all the problems I have read about here, I am not sure i want it until they fix the bugs.

Yes @Purrstachio, for whatever reason the 27 is usually omitted when versions are discussed.

Hi 🙂
I'm a little confuse about this update because after factory reset old Ionic showed in app Version 20.16.23, then i started update which shoved on screen iPad 4 mini "Update to Fitbit OS 2.2", update via WiFi iPad hotspot really fast about 20 min. After update Fitbit app show Version 32.10.20.
It is Ionic correctly updated?,
because in your post is ... Fitbit OS 2.2! (Firmware Version: 32.12.19).
Probably OS is updated to version 2.2 however i don't know how to check in app or in Ionic and Firmware is not updated to version 32.12.19.
I attempted update to version Firmware 32.12.19 by advises how to do presented here however all unsuccessful and Ionic still is firmware version 30.10.20.
After 3 times attempt update to firmware version 32.12.19 i give up it, because Ionic is working perfectly and i haven't any another issue and I'm very satisfied with this product from Fitbit.
Best regards
Martin

You laid it out very clearly. I am having no issues either (except for waiting on a clock face update which seems, per the developer, to be waiting on this update. That's a little aggravating, but not the end of the world. Maybe we are better off without this update.

Finally I managed to update the software however I used my wife's phone which is S8 . S6 edge some how was not letting me complete this update which was annoying.

yeah, it's strange. I've never waited this long for an update.
But then I'm a bit concerned that a FW update might degrade my 'ionic experience'; for the past couple months it seems to be working ok.

Update still not showing in my app (Android). Tried a factory reset (twice). Update stage took forever each time but my Ionic's still stuck on 32.10.20. What's going on?

There is one thing I'm curious about which I got reminded by reading another thread:
The issue of crashing Exercise app - has it been solved in the new update? I'm expecting just a simple answer "yes" or "no". Don't bother copy/pasting usual reply. I appreciate adding and improving new features but fixing critical issues should always come first. Today during cycling the Exercise app crashed again for me. I was just a few minutes in so I restarted the activity and somehow I got lucky till the end of it.
I think this is the most critical issue as it makes activity tracking useless if not fixed and there is a new update but not a word whether it's been fixed.

I only saw it on my IOS device but didn't see it on y Android phone. So there's always that oddity.

I am feeling the exact same way. Very disapointed of the product
considering it's high price... I can no longer use it since I tried to do
the update, that's a real shame....

@PhilMale @SunsetRunner @aquafrog @J-falls @Ron17Great to see that you were able to get updated. Your efforts are truly appreciated.
@CLE253 @Vash22 If you have not already tried, I recommend performing each of the steps detailed in this article to factory reset your Ionic.
@Purrstachio @SunsetRunner @SunsetRunner @Vash22 @Butterflywings Just to confirm, the firmware release has not been pushed to 100% of users. I will be sure to keep you all posted as more info becomes available.

I have to say that I won't touch this latest firmware, even if it does get offered to me (which it has not).
@MattFitbit I am wondering why a fairly minor update (I think it added like 3 new features/enhancements) would have broken so many Ionics. Do any of the moderators here have the authority to publish a complete list of changes in this most recent firmware?

Tried it and now none of the apps respond, including the settings app.

As I have noted before, please keep it in the garage until the problems are corrected. My Ionic is working perfectly and I am not a fan of fixing what isn't broken.
