Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30-minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.

Yes. I got my ionic when they first came out. It has had 3 or 4 software updates in its life and still going strong.
This latest one only took about 5 mins

Try holding the back button and the bottom right button down for 10 sec.
Then resync, it worked for me and I had the same problem.

The same thing happen to about 20 minutes ago. The way I was able to get it to turn back on was holding all three of my buttons down at the same time for about 9 second then letting go and it turned back on.
I shut it down again and had the same issue. I the the same step above and it turned on again.
I hope this helps your issue as it did mine.

I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max. I don’t think the issue with the phone. The integration with the phone works. It’s the firmware pushed out that forces me to factory restart my phone if I want to turn it back on.

I have been happily using FitBit Pay until this latest upgrade. Now when I hold the left button the Ionic just gives me the option to change what the left button does. So, I figured I need to set it up again but when I got to FitBit Pay on the phone app it displays "Checking for PIN" and never completes this step.
I have tried bebooting the watch.

I’ve been waiting lots of days, still I haven’t received the update. Is there an approximate date in which most of Fitbit users a will have the update?

I have same problem with my galaxy.
also I m on my third replacement tracker, and latest one has issue of turning off regularly, requiring reboot to turn it back on. Hoping new update might fix that,
‘otherwise I will be making a very formal complaint. Not a satisfied customer I’m afraid

I seem to be having the same starting issue that others are having. This morning my ionic would not come out of syncing mode. I used the shut down in settings to do a shutdown. The left button would not work to do a restart. After reading a members comment about using the left and lower right buttons, I was able to get a restart.

Hello everyone,
In continuation to what has been - to say the least - a very disappointing experience since the day I bought my Ionic, the fitbit app has now evolved into disabling me from using my phone in general.
About 2 weeks ago I noticed my phone has become very laggy that even making a call was a time-consuming chore. Two factory resets later of my phone (S9+, 128gb, 6gb) and installing app by app to find the culprit, I discovered it was the fitbit app.
Upon turning on notifications on the app, everything on the phone becomes laggy. Google maps navigation, for example, becomes obsolete. How do I rectify this horrendous bug you may ask? I remove the fitbit app! I literally have to choose between having a usable phone and this terrible fitbit product.
If anyone has any solutions to this problem please be my guest, as the support team has suggested basic "please restart your phone" type support to this moment.
And now with this latest software update 2 days ago, everytime I turn my ionic off, I have to factory reset back to life. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I did not pay this much money for myself to be a lab rat for what's supposed to be a flagship product that is very very badly made in terms of software.
Please help!
