Fitbit dongle query

Hi there, hope someone can advise. I have an Ionic and am keen to run on a treadmill using Zwift. I need to buy a footpod and the Garmin footpod seems like a good fit. As it is an ANT+ and not Bluetooth my understanding is that I need a bridge connection to my PC, I.E a dongle. Does anyone know if the footpod will communicate/connect to my Fitbit dongle?

Any help would be much appreciated  thanks in advance.

@m00nman1972 It does not appear that will work for you. From an older community post, the Fitbit dongle does not support ANT+:

Is the Fitbit Dongle Ant+?

Which doesn't seem a surprise since I'm not aware of any Fitbit devices that support ANT+.

@m00nman1972 There are some footpods supporting BTLE ( sometimes called Bluetooth Smart ) Stryd, Polar or even Zwift. Not sure whether Fitbit dongle supports the right kind of Bluetooth protocol. If you need to establish a connection between PC and footpod using Fitbit dongle then you may be the first person trying to do that 😄
