Just set up my Ionic, everthings in working order except I’m not getting message notifications, only call notifications. I’ve tried everything on the settings on both the watch and my phone. Help please! Thanks.

Hi @Demi226 Sorry to hear you are having an issue getting your text messages. What OS if your phone using? Did you just download the Fitbit app today or have you had it on your phone for a while? If you've had it on your phone for a bit, please check for updates. I have found that if the there is a pending update, it can mess with notifications. Also please swipe right on the main screen of your Ionic, to verify you see "Notification" receive from phone. Also check your phone to make sure you have under notification, calls, text message, & calendar events selected. If all those things look correct, try rebooting your Ionic by holding down the left button and the bottom right button until you see the Fitbit symbol. Hope that helps.

I'm having the same issue with mine. I have the Google Pixel 2. I heard that the Pixel 2 isn't fully compatible? Is that true? I'm getting call notifications but not message or app notifications.

Well, I tried deleting and reinstalling the app on my phone and still with same issue. I’ve been messing with it all day. Sad that a brand new item has issues with a simple feature right out the box. I wanted a good fitness waterproof watch with GPS and simple smart watch features and was hoping this was it. I’ll be returning it and getting a Garmin.

Mines working now! My phone was on silent which activates do not disturb, which, when on, won't send notifications to the watch. Turned it on vibrate and it worked fine.

welcome and congrats on your new buddy. I have the ionic but mine is on android. Here are some things I do to ensure I get notifications..

Make sure that all the notifications are defaulting to the apps I have. the text was defaulting to an app I don't use.

Restart Bluetooth every morning and turn off/on the receive notifications on the ionic itself.

Make sure my phone is set to vibrate- my silent is the same as dnd so I won't get notifications.

Make sure I am synched at least once to make sure I am "connected".

And recently I have noticed that the app will want me to enable notifications even though I never disabled, so I do that as part of my morning routine as well.

If all this does not solve the issue- try a restart. if still no, get in touch with support...
