So, the long and short of the issue is that my Fitbit Ionic spent a fair bit of time dead (Band broke and a replacement one to ship took almost a month, fantastic job). Once I got the battery powered back up and everything set, I noticed one major problem - "Device not found." This error is constant. Here's what has been tried (To expedite through the fact that the same answer constantly comes up in response to this issue and it's not worked yet):
- I have reset the phone, the app, and the device
- I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app
- I have shut down the watch after changing all settings via a YouTube tutorial demonstrating how to work around this issue with Android phones (I use an LG G6)
- I unpaired the device and attempted to set it up through the app again (Bonus points, it cannot find the device effectively meaning that it's irredeemable through the app on Android)
- In sum, I've tried everything that's constantly reposted on this forum as a "fix."
Now, I HAVE been able to get the device back in pairing through having it connected and running it through the FitBit app on my desktop (Windows 10). HOWEVER, having done all that, whenever I try to sync it with the app, you guessed it, "Device not found."
I have the watch laying on top of the phone while trying to sync and it cannot find it. Either the phone's blind or FitBit has become my worst tech purchase since the Soulja Boy console. Does anyone have a solution for this Ionic issue or should it just get clubbed with a hammer and wash my hands of the whole mess?

Yes, every time I want to sync, I have to reboot my Pixel 3. Then it will sync. But it requires a reboot, every time. Clearly the fitbit app has a bug they need to fix.

This has been happening on my Versa since the new update. I've spent way too much of my life constantly having to troubleshoot this thing to get it working properly again. Yet here we are once more.

Same problem for me. Two hours on the chat line. Then Advised to factory reset the device,
hold down all buttons for quite a while, release right button when logo appears ,,,, should vibrate....wait for data to clear.
...but didn’t work for me, got the big Red Cross... in the bin !

I have had "device not found" for a few weeks now. I eventually got it all working again this morning. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone. I turned bluetooth ON and OFF on my phone. I reconnected the fitbit and whilst on the 1st attempt it failed, the 2nd attempt was successful. My last fitbit also broke and I had to throw it in the bin........ so pleased I got this one working again.

I flipped my hold switch and it worked. The one you use to silence your iPhone.

Have the same issue, since this morning.
The bluetooth toggle is a workaround, which works when I notice the device is not connected anymore, though I already had to perform this action three times today, which is pretty annoying...

This **ahem** is just not working. Now I am doing a Factory Reset AGAIN!
The good thing is that I have learnt not to buy **ahem** because **ahem** sucks!
I can't believe how good my Garmin was. It died when 3 years old, but at least I could trust it all this time. Fitbit? Just **ahem**.

I am on Android (Galaxy S9+) and tried this. My phone doesn't have a hold switch, but I flipped mine from audio notifications to vibrations only, and all of a sudden it worked. And it continued to work after resetting it to audio notifications.
I had reset my ionic and my phone a half dozen times each, and it never worked...until I flipped the audio/vibration toggle.

Only way I fixed the "Device Not Found" was to uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app on my phone. Then it asked me if I wanted to allow it to use Bluetooth and asked me if I wanted Notifications. Once I allowed both those, it synced right up. No, this isn't the answer I'm sure....but at least it synced!

Hi,
Same issue with my Ionic, I did a factory reset and for a while it worked, after several hours of syncing it stopped again. I did a factory reset for a second time, I purged my phone entirely of fitbit, started from a scratch, got a latest firmware for Ionic, managed to set-up wi-fi, reinstalled app on my phone, went online on my Dashboard did all the tricks mentioned on this community, I thought thats it.... After few hours same thing. I have Flyer earbuds and tried to connect with them but Ionic bluetooth isn't working. Tried an Iphone 8, just to see if the Ionic bluetooth is recognized, tried two different computers, it just does'nt show Ionic at all.
I have an Samsung S8, until latest firmware it worked fine. The only thing I noticed was when I added several clock faces on Ionic, the time was off every day for like 30 mins. This is a major issue if you rely on silent alarm and if you are employed.
