Is my Fitbit Ionic heart rate monitor accurate?

Last week when I first got it, it said I have a testing of 57 bpm. Now it says I have a bpm of 65. I personally would say I’m very fit for a 14 year old boy. I practice soccer, go to the gym, and do lots of cardio pretty much every day. I have a 5:19 mile which is the best in my school. Please help me with this, it really pisses me off.

Hi @BellamyCox,

I have two questions for you, to help answer your question.

1. What do you feel an appropriate resting heart rate should be for a fit 14 year old male?

2. Where did you get information that led to #1?

I guess everyone would like a lower resting heart rate, but my questions are to see where you're getting your ideas that your numbers aren't accurate.

I would hold off on complaining until you have a week or so of readings in the app and see what your resting HR is.
