@MarkyT288 Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for posting your inquiry regarding the Ionic's display brightness.
Were you able to find the brightness setting? Just as @SunsetRunner said swipe left and find the Settings app (which is a gear icon). Tap it and the first option that appears is the Brightness. Tap it and you will be able to select between: auto, normal, mas, or dim.
Keep me posted!

The Brightness adjustment setting is reached by a left swipe to Settings App and Brightness is the first setting there.

I am unable to adjust the brightness no matter how many times I try to tap the brightness setting. In fact, the brightness is one of several settings that is not seeming to work and is dimmer than other settings listed. In fact none of the dim settings are currently adjustable. Is this an update glitch, or is something wrong?

I have the same problem since the last update. Brightness is dimmed and disabled. Can’t change it

I've noticed my brightness has also dimmed an when I go to adjust, my "Brightness" is grayed out and won't let me adjust....???????
BTW, a "reset" didn't solve the issue.
I just found the problem. My Ionic was in sleep mode. All fixed. I hope this helps someone else.

The brightness tab on my ionic doesn’t react to a tap. Now what?
Same problem here
Adjustment cannot be accomplished if device is in sleep mode.

I have just bought my iconic and it took me quite a time to work it out,
with the watch on your arm push the button on the left to see home screen
swipe down from the top you will see three symbols above the words Nothing new here,
the symbols left to right are music note. a purse , and two sliding bars , it’s these sliding bars you need to touch, this gives you access to Quick settings four in total
you need to tough the symbol you want to change it
the bottom left one is for the screen brightness, dim , auto or bright , I set my at Auto
one is for Do not Disturb on/off
one for home screen light up with movement or button on the left
one is sleep mode on/off

I followed the instructions all the way through. However, my watch won’t offer me all the options. It’s stuck on “dim” no matter where I touch that area. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
Thank you. You saved from losing my mind. Old eyes don’t like dim lights!!

Brightness can not be adjusted if your tracker is in Sleep Mode.

Wow thanks for sharing. I have been trying to figure out what went wrong with mine since my grand daughter tapped thaw settings lol. Never even knew there was a sleep mode. Thought it was broken. Phew back on track.

Mine is stuck on dim, tapping it does nothing:-( I can tap on all the other settings but the brightness... the watch is fast becoming useless. Is there another way?
OMG thank you! This was exactly what was wrong with mine. Has been so frustrating not being able to see the screen.

I had the same problem. My brightness setting was on dim and would not allow me to change it. Finally I discovered that I had my watch on sleep. Set it to Awake and the brightness setting now works. Now I’m happy with my Fitbit Ionic again.
