How Do I Remove the Interval Training from my Ionic?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi, I have just upgraded to the Ionic and I've managed to add interval training to Walk Mode.  How do I remove the interval training please?  I don't have Interval Training as an exercise shortcut, so I'm a little confused as to how it's visible obscuring my cue icon, which I have set to 1 Kilometre.

Thanks in advance, Neil.

Please note that the Moderator changed the title of my query which did not clarify my issue. The interval timer menu that usually appears if you have Interval workout as one of your exercises was appearing in my Walk exercise screen. I did not have Interval training as an exercise on my Ionic.

@Neil.M Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for posting your question regarding how to remove exercises on your watch.

Please try the following steps:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon  >  your device image.
  2. Tap Exercise Shortcuts.
  3. To add a new exercise shortcut, tap the + icon and select an exercise.
  4. To remove an exercise shortcut, swipe left on a shortcut (on Windows 10, tap the trashcan icon).
  5. To reorder an exercise shortcut, press and hold a shortcut, then drag it up or down to change its position.
  6. Sync your device.

Please check this helpful article for more details on exercise on your watch.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Hi, Thank you for your quick response.

I'm happy with adding and removing exercise shortcuts and I probably didn't explain my issue clearly.

I have added "Run" and "Walk" as shortcuts and set my cues at 1 km.  When I select "Exercise" and then "walk" as my chosen exercise, I can see my 1 km cue in the left lower corner of the screen, but I also have an interval timer menu covering the 1 km cue.

If I select "run" as my chosen exercise I can only see the 1 km cue....no interval timer menu, which is great.

I understand that interval training/workout is a separate exercise shortcut, where I can adjust move and rest intervals. The interval timer menu appears in the left lower corner of my screen, which is what I expect.

I would like to know why I can see an interval timer menu on my "walk" screen (I don't think it should be there) and how I remove it please?

I have tried a factory reset and updated the software, neither of which remove the interval timer from the "walk mode".

@Neil.M Thanks for your reply and for sharing those details.

Could you please share a screen shot or picture showing the menu you want to delete? That way, I can take a closer look at it and help you out.

By any chance, have you tried checking the settings customization option of the Exercise app?:

  1. On your device, open the Exercise app.
  2. Swipe through the list of exercises to find the one you want to customize.
  3. Tap the gear icon and swipe through the list of settings.
  4. Tap a setting to adjust it.
  5. When you're done, press the back button to return to the exercise screen.
  6. Tap the exercise screen and then tap the play icon to start the workout.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Hi,

Thank you for your email, I accepted your solution by mistake as unfortunately it didn't fix the issue.  I will attach a picture of the screen you see after selecting Exercise and then Walk.  You will see my chosen lap cue (1 km) and an interval timer (Which should not be there as it should only be available in the Interval Workout shortcut).

I will share with you how I fixed the issue.

After the first unsuccessful factory reset, with my iPhone switched on and connected to the Bluetooth, I carried out a second factory reset, but disconnected the Bluetooth from my phone to stop my Ionic and iPhone syncing.  Previous factory resets appeared to retain whatever exercise shortcuts I had selected on the Fitbit app instead of resetting to the pre-selected shortcuts during a successful reset.

Once I had checked that the preset shortcuts had been successfully installed on my Ionic, I then reconnected the Bluetooth and allowed the sync to take place.  This replaced all my previous settings and shortcuts, which didn't happen during the first factory reset.  This procedure of switching the Bluetooth off during the factory reset removed the unwanted interval timer menu from the Walk shortcut.

I hope this helps.
