I'm having this same issue. No matter what I do I cannot get them to clear. I turned off notifications in the app, and reset it by holding down all 3 buttons and the screen flashed and nothing else....

Hello @Javi21, @karinpw1, @JetLori, @JLBlades, @Cal6404, @Jen1990, @kvanderhoek, @Vin5432, @Jennifer.sturgi, it's good to see you around in the forums, and welcome to all the new users.
I can see you've mentioned having the same problem when using the "Clear All" option of the Ionic to delete notifications. I've seen other people experiencing the same thing; the team of developers is aware of this and is working to find a solution as quickly as possible.
However, most users who have mentioned having problems with the Clear All option have also been able to resolve by performing a restart, as many of you have reported too. I do recommend you try this procedure if you haven't done so already.
I hope this helps, keep me posted.

Hi,
I've tried all the resets, turned notifications on and off and I still have messages from January on my ionic!
I can't open them or reply to them as it says the notification has expired!

Hello @Monkey83, it's good to see you visiting the Community forums for the fist time. I'm sorry to see you've been having trouble to delete the notifications from the Ionic watch.
As it's been mentioned in the conversation, unfortunately this is something that several users have been experiencing with the watch, and it's usually resolved by performing a restart. However, the team of developers is aware of this and they're working to find a resolution, but we haven't received any other updates for the moment. I also hope this is resolved as soon as possible.
Thank you for sharing your experience, let me know if you have any questions.

You have to hold the buttons down for about 5-10 seconds and it will turn off and back on showing the Fitbit logo. All the notifications should go away.

Had the same problem. One old stubborn message would not clear. Restart your tracker and it was gone.

Have tried your solution to clearing of a notification that says action failed. Even deleted the app and reinstalled it but text is still on my watch. I also have deleted the message on my phone

How do you delete the messages that they sent you. I try to do it but is not giving any option to delete? Do you delete it using the apps or your watch?
