How long does a Fitbit normally last you? I've gone through 3 in the last 2 and a half years?

I have bought two products and both died within two years. The first fitbit and the charge 3.

in addition, I had to have my band replace twice on the charge 3.

In my family:

First Ionic - 18 months - black screen after update - offered 25% rebate to replace it - pathetic given the list below...

Second Ionic - 5 months, luckily still going...knock,knock,knock 😞

Versa - 14 months - black screen & dead - offered 25% to replace it

Inspire HR - 1 month, no issues, still going

Flex (have 2 devices) - 2+ years no issues, still going

Charge - 3 years, battery won't hold a charge

Blaze - 5 years, no issues and still going strong

Of all the devices we have the newer models seem to be less reliable and have more issues, just saying from experience.  Family is now considering competitors devices as screens continue to go dark from fitbit...

Well my second Fitbit Ionic has now reached the end of its life.  It is going from a full charge to zero in 2 hours of just walking around.  It is also constantly resting.  Fitbit doesn’t seem to want to upgrade the Ionic.  I loved it this one died in 8 months
I ordered an Apple Watch yesterday.

Failing any premature death due to the current firmware issues widely reported, or reduce battery life as some have reported, also possibly FW related - I would hope my Ionic lasts the life of the non-replaceable Lithium-ion battery. If that battery is of quality manufacture, then I would guestimate 3-5 years would be appropriate before the battery's capacity reduces to a point where the device needs charging daily. I generally run my battery down to about 10-15% before charging, and every few charges I run it down to 4-5% and then fully charge.

Anything less than this expected life timeframe is really unacceptable.

I bought an HR in May 2015 strp broke whilst under warranty so Fitbit replaced - that HR had strap issues as well and bought a Charge 2 in November 2017 which still works well today except that the battery is showing its age and rarely lasts more than 3 days now.

That said 3 &1/2 years seems to better than most and I wear it almost 24/7

My Charge 2 lasted for about a year and a half, my Charge 3 died within 6 months, and my Charge 4 wouldn’t work out of the box. 😞

I’ve had my ionic for 3 years- just 6 months past the extended warrantee we purchased for $60. I felt fortunate that it lasted this long- my charge HR came apart after a year of normal wear and was starting to fall apart just before I got the ionic. However, the ionic’s price was $300 when it was purchased from an authorized dealer. That means it cost me $100 + a year for basically a watch. To say that we’re disappointed would be generous review of this product.

Just after posting this, my ionic came back to lifeAfter24 hours of being dead. Maybe it needed the day off?

4 Years so far;
Usually it last, until there’s a newer model upgrade. It takes awhile to save up for them due to the high price it has on it.
