Fitbit Update: Fitbit OS2.1 has been released to 100% of users!
Hi all!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 27.32.10.15)
We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Ionic users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Ionic users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT’S NEW
Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?
This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic can be found here.
I recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Took my ionic back to Argos this morning and replaced it with a Garmin. The Garmin setup went fine, syncs fine and notifications work. Will never buy another Fitbit device.

@SunsetRunner: Same here. Got a Vivoactive 3. Best Smartwatch since Pebble imho. Currently developing some apps for it.

That's the watch I exchanged it for, garmin vivoactive 3 special edition slate. I liked the Ionic but after two months of notification issues, watch restarts, lockups and now the sync issue, enough is enough. I had to pay the difference but so far it was worth it and i'm glad I took it back!
Only trouble is now, I have a Fitbit scales and a Garmin watch. 😕

sounds good.
Does it have HRV and sleep stages?
How does it look like, the sleep stages?
Can it shows notifications from other app on the watch?
Thank you

It does show notifications from other apps. As for the sleep stages, i'm unsure at present but this is what is written on the Garmin website:
Sleep Tracking

HRV + stress level display and even more via widgets.
Sleep stages show deep/light/awake phases, movement. and the cumulative times for deep/light/awake
It recieves notifications for all apps that you have selected. You can basically configure as many reply's as you want and even have context sensitive reply's. When I get my drink notification from HydroCoach I can select my fav'd drink amounts from the watch as a reply. Music/Video control works as well and is context sensitive. When I watch Netflix the media controls show the basic controls for Netflix and the currently watched title. When I switch to Google Music I will have that controls, aso. This watch has so many features you first will be puzzled. It even has a simple watchface creator on the watch itself where you can change the default watchface, if you don't like any of the like 400 faces in the store. I currently really like the "smart training performance" display that shows me, if my training is below/average/over performance.
For me this watch basically feels like the only viable Pebble replacement out there

My text message notifications don't work anymore after the update... I also use the Verizon Message+ app. I've done all the restarting, reinstalling, reupdating, etc. This is massively annoying...

Thanks for chiming in @thestral09, I think through sharing on here, we have learned that's definitely an issue with the new OS update. I haven't gotten any text message notifications since I did the update Saturday and I use Message+ as well. I hope they can address and get this fixed for us!

Experiencing the same problem with SMS through Verizon message+, no text notifications since firmware update this past weekend. Worked fine before the update. I have also noticed that the Gmail notifications clear themselves from the watch after a time on their own when in the past I had to clear them manually. Thought updates were supposed to make things better, not worse!

Any information from Fitbit when they are going to provide the bugfixes?
Thank you.
And I'm looking forward to have a full functional Ionic.
Or do I daydream? Hopefully not!

I updated on Sunday via wifi in under 30 minutes (first time that has worked the 1st time). Everything still works as before for me (notifications, fitbit pay, Deezer, etc.)
My battery life suffered after the previous update (50% per day) but after a 24 hour charge my battery life returned to 4 days. Still monitoring after this update to see if the battery life issue returns.
The only lingering original issue for me is that weather sync only works when you update the cities. It never updates again and displays "--" for the temp after 1 day until I update the cities again.
I am a Windows Phone user and except for the Weather sync issue quite happy with the Ionic at the moment.

My notification problem has been resolved...I was not getting notifications nor was I getting the vibration notice:
In all of my efforts to resolve this on my own, I had failed to select the one "notification" setting that was most important. After contacting Support, a very kind lady had me hold the 'left' button down for a couple of seconds which brought up a screen with "Screen Wake" and "Notifications" options. There it was big as day... "Notifications - OFF" After changing to ON, she had me go to the mobile app to send a test message. I did this by selecting the "Index Card" icon at the top right. Then selecting the Ionic Icon under my Devices. Then selecting "Notifications" Then selecting the three dots at the top right. Finally, selecting "Send a Test Call Notification". Voila! I am a happy camper!!! Excellent Customer Service...this was my first call.

I stand corrected on my last remaining issue.
For the first time ever the weather app is synching correctly all the time since I updated to this version.
This checks all the boxes. Pretty much everything is working correctly on my Windows Phone now.
Good Job, thanks!

My weather was one that always worked wonderfully until about a week or two ago. 😞
Now nothing works...won't sync, won't update. I think I spend more time troubleshooting this thing than using it! Too bad because when it was working well I really liked it.
