Update 9/3/2020: This update should now be available to all customers. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.
We've started rolling out Fitbit OS 4.2 Firmware Update (71.6.19) for Ionic.
We release firmware updates to all customers in phases. The update will be available to everyone soon, and a banner will appear in the app when you can install the update. If you don’t see the banner yet, check the app again later.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Ionic device can be found here.
We recommend updating your Ionic over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Ionic to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Ionic I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.

My phone is a samsung galaxy note 8 and the connection to my ionic is bad, almost none. I have tried everything you offer on your forums. I'm crazy about the last upgrade. the clock shows me the wrong time, it does not synchronize with the phone, bluetooth pairing is almost impossible, sometimes, but it takes a very short time and then further synchronization is impossible

Does anyone with a blank grey screen, no green light, white sliver of light on far right top had a resolution yet?
I have exhausted all options and nothing works

This update has bricked my Ionic. Have no clue how to get it working again. These FW updates are always issues and I am very disappointed in this product specially for how much I paid for this watch.
Please help.

I was doing the update via bluetooth and lost the connection. Tried to continue via wifi and the app doesn't find my watch and I can't get into wifi settings as it shows a continuous rotating circle. I turned the watch off and back on, deleted and reloaded the app. The watch shows the Fitbit logo and doesn't do anything. Samsung Galaxy 9+. It is still under warranty and want a refund.

Had that as well, the watch is brigged and needs to be replaced. Amazon replaced mine in 2 days and before I send back my watch, much better service than fitbit.
That a firmware update can so easily break the watch is just rediculous and needs to be adressed.
I'm really afraid of the next update...

My fitbit ionic synched this morning at 830 but has not updated since then. I've tried to restart my ionic and also unpaired it and paired it again and waited for it to connect but I kept getting the connecting screen on my phone.

If on Android, have you force stopped the app and restarted the app and attempted a sync again. You may have to force stop the app a second time and try syncing a few times.

I see in the developer updates that the memory for running apps is doubled but it only mention's versa 2.
I'm wondering it this also counts for the ionic

A faced the same issue, in a day after update my Ionics screen became blue. And in a couple of days, it turned to just grey. I tried restart and changing clock face.
And the topic just confirms it was broken by the Fitbit update. Extremely disappointed.

Since I updated my Ionic and changed to the SpO2 clock my Ionic has been dropping the Bluetooth connection. As a result the time is incorrect and now I can't get it to sync at all

I managed to have my Fitbit working ok again by letting the battery drain completely, then I charged it full and it regained all functionality. Just rebooting it didn’t help.

Hello, I looked through a couple of pages of these emails and didn't see the same issue I'm having since I upgraded last week. Maybe there is already a thread but I haven't seen it. Since the upgrade I'm having a difficult time changing screens on my Ionic. Before the upgrade I would touch the right side of the screen and it would cycle through the steps, heart rate, calories...etc. now sometimes it works most times I have to touch the screen multiple times. Trying to swipe up to get to the more detailed page is very difficult, and when I finally do get there I try to swipe left to see the other areas and I haven't been able to see those screens at all. I have rebooted 3 or 4 times to try to fix this, no luck so far. Thoughts?
