Ionic Not Tracking Zone Minutes

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Versa however due to issues with it not tracking correctly I switched to my Ionic this morning after getting “riddle me this riddle me that” on the Live chat.

Now the Ionic is not tracking HR correctly - on a run my heart was above 150 most of the run and it has been recorded as below zones. Also RHR is high due to combination of issues with the Versa and Ionic.

Is this a generic server issue on all products?. Anyone one else having HR issues with their product??.

In fairness my main heart rate issues with Fitbit usually involve dealing with their customer support.

I did not upgrade as I know not to now so am on the old firmware.

@SunsetRunner Hi there. Thank you for the details shared and the troubleshooting performed with our Support team.

As with all heart-rate tracking technology, accuracy is affected by personal physiology, device location on your arm, and type of movement.

For a more accurate heart-rate reading:

  • Wear your Fitbit device on top of your wrist, and make sure the back of the device is in contact with your skin.
  • When you’re not exercising, wear your device a finger’s width above your wrist bone.
  • During exercise, wear your device a bit tighter and higher for an improved fit. The band should be snug but not constricting (a tight band restricts blood flow, potentially affecting the heart-rate signal). Many exercises such as bike riding or weight lifting cause you to bend your wrist frequently, which could interfere with the heart-rate signal if the watch is lower on your wrist.

Also double check the factors that can affect your heart-rate reading in this article

In regards to the resting heart rate is the number of times your heart beats per minute when you’re still and well-rested. Typically, resting heart rate ranges from 60-100 bpm, but the rate can vary based on age and fitness level.

Hope this helps.
