Ionic Showing Magenta Triangle with Exclamation Mark

Does anyone know how to fix a fitbit ionic when the screen shows a magenta triangle with a magenta exclamation mark through it?  There are no lights on the back, neither the two button nor the three button resets will fix the problem.  It has been charged overnight that hasn't help?

Yep - I have been through three Fitbits - two of them Ionic's.  Same problem.  Will not do it again.  Samsung Galaxy is awesome - you get all the new updates with their new technology without having to purchase a new watch.

I am experiencing this same red triangle with the red exclamation mark. My battery suddenly died and I have tried fast charging off the wall and slow charging from the computer and I cannot get it to do charge. The red triangle and exclamation mark were the last things that showed on the screen. What are Fitbit's solutions to this?

There is no solution, get a Garmin, I think Fitbit - got there product to
last to a certain point and it just will not work anymore.

Thanks.

No solution from Fitbit but I have got the triangle to disappear using the
steps below.

1. Take bands off of watch face.
2. Set watch face on hard surface.
3. Grab a hammer.
4. Hit the Fitbit 3-5 times with the hammer.
After about the 3rd hit the triangle goes away. Easy solution Fitbit
won't share with you because they just want you to buy a new one.

Thanks,

Luke

Best solution I read so far... I switched to Garmin. Better watches, better and more biometrics and the app is amazing.

Best answer ever!  Samsung Galaxy latest Health App is pretty good - had watch for three years never a problem, and get latest updates included in new watches.

Love the hammer fix.

I believe the magenta triangle with exclamation mark means the watch has corrupted code.

Mine had issue trying to update. Tried WiFi and then Bluetooth, which resulted in it being corrupted.

By holding the reset for 20 seconds, I can turn it on (triangle and exclamation mark) and turn it off with the same reset process. When the battery is almost dead and connect it to the charger, the 0% battery show until it get some charge, then shows nothing. Have to do the 20 second reset to get a response.

I no longer get the  Fitbit symbol/icon on the display.

Has anyone been able to reprogram the Ionic? with alternate cable or connection?

I am about to tear mine apart and replace a circuit board, since it is no longer in warranty.

Thanks, Josh. I’m there.

hanks, Josh. After an unhelpful online "help" chat, I've reached the same conclusion. Any particular Garmin model you like best? I'm most interested in the fitness features, less so about being too connected to all my other stuff when I'm training.

I’ve been looking at the vivoactive series, currently still using a forerunner 625 but really want something to track everyday fitness not just running.

Thanks,

My Ionic Fitbit is doing the same thing.. It shut down, with a full battery and shows the exclamation point in a triangle.. I've only had this since December.. so not even 2 months? What should I do.

You should be under warranty still. Send it in.

It was not under warranty. And i just threw it away. It was useless to keep it.

There is no fix for it.
