Ionic - Strange numbers and letters instead of clear & clear all after update

Since upgrading the firmware my Ionic has funny strings of numbers and letters where words used to be, the main ones I have notices are clear and clear all on notifications. but others are the same, I was waiting for the next firmware as I thought it was just a bug in the one I just did, any ideas how I fix this?

Have you tried shutting down?

I have tried doing a hard restart by pressing left and bottom right buttons until fitbit logo comes on.

I have not done a factory reset which I am trying to avoid.

You could try a soft(ware) restart by pressing holding in the Left and Lower right buttons, but I suggest a Hard(ware) restart by going through Settings, About, and Shutdown.

Thanks, tried both but still the same. Took a photo, this is what I see if all notifications have been cleared and I swipe up.
