My Ionic gives error message to unlock with phone. I've read many of these threads and followed all instructions: reset watch; reset phone; stop app on phone; log out/in to app; uninstall/reinstall app; hold all 3 buttons, release lower right after 10 seconds but maintain other two until screen goes black; remove pay app; unpair phone (now I can't sync because I need to enter code from watch that tells me it's locked so I can't see the new code); reset Bluetooth; install app on laptop; reinstall watch on laptop while plugged in with cord. I tried all of these for about 3 hours last night, and for another hour this morning. None of those things work, it still tells me to unlock with my phone.

I am having the same problem, screen says unlock with phone.
I followed all recommended steps and after unpairing, but the repairing process won't work as when asked to enter watch code into phone... it says unlock with your phone?
Unable to factory reset because i have no access to any apps via the watch.
I am stuck with a smart watch that does nothing but tell the time.
Does anyone know where to go from here.
This is my second watch in 9 months... if the store replaces it i'll be getting another brand.

Unock with your phone". Simply follow below, I hope this helps everyone out. I could not find this solution anywhere, this needs to be posted by FitBit officially ...!
1. unpair(Bluetooth) Ionic from all devices, Computer/Phone
2. Press and hold all three/3 buttons on Ionic until the "FitBit" appears.
3. After 20 secs or so, when the "FitBit" logo disappears release bottom right-button
4. Continue to hold the left-button and top right-button until the Ionic vibrates
5. Then let go of all buttons.
6. Ionic will begin its factory reset which last 2-3 minutes, screen will be black and buttons will not work, FitBit will come up on its on to the welcome screen.
7. Contuine to pair device as normal.

When we get an unlock with phone error and we are unsure what to do. Let's click on the help link found below, search for the term "lock" and see what Fitbit says.
The solution is to open the Fitbit app
Tap on your tracker
Tap on device lock
Enter your phones unlock code, for me that would be my finger print.
Choose a new lock code. Fitbit has thought about almost every problem an addresses it in their help docs.
Problem solved. Now set the pin to only be needed with Fitbit pay.
Now if the tracker was removed from your Fitbit account, you will need to do the above procedure.
