Ionic adding 7000+ steps while charging/sitting since I started swimming?

I searched other posts but have not really found a helpful answer. Yesterday morning and this morning my Ionic has started adding approximately 7000 steps while it is charging or I am sitting at my desk. I also have started swimming with it recently and I am wondering if it s now malfunctioning? I bought the Ionic the week it came out, so it has been working fine for a long time. Anyone else have this problem? I don't like the solution of having to log as driving every morning, and even when I tried that it does not take the steps away.

Is the Fitbit near a vibration source like a fan, dehumidifier, or even a computer CPU? It can see the vibration as steps and add false steps.
