Ionic does not display third-party notifications

Android phone app notifications like those from Medisafe, Multi Timer, Knudge.me, Virgin Pulse and others are not able to be displayed on the Ionic Fitbit. I made sure to allow notifications showing on the phone for these particular app's and, on the Fitbit App I selected all the app's I wanted to receive notifications from. So far I receive notifications from news, weather apps except for the ones mentioned earlier. In summary, message-type applications are the ones that may show on the Ionic other than call and calendar app types. Please confirm if this is due to compatibility issues or provide if it exits, any solution that I may be ignoring so far. I am using a Galaxy S8 for further specs.

Thx

Update on this issue: I double-checked the notification settings on my Galaxy S8 for the apps in question. My notification importance for most of these apps was set from high to medium, meaning those notifications were shown on the status bar only. I changed them to "Urgent" meaning, to get sound and pop up on the screen and... voilá!, notifications are showing finally on the Ionic for most of them! The Knudge.me app remained behind, but for this one there is not available a priority setting. Thanks for the hint(s)!!!

Welcome on board @CH2018-Ionic, it's nice to see a new member around! Thanks for making sure you've allowed notifications on your phone and on the Fitbit app, nice way to go!

Have you tried restarting your Ionic? As you mentioned, since your Ionic can receive app notifications make sure you can receive app notifications on your phone. For example, you can receive Facebook notifications on your Fitbit device, but only if you also receive them on your phone. Find the notifications permissions under Settings > Notifications.

1. In the phone itself  select "Settings", "Notifications", "Mail/Facebook" then ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled.

2. In Mail/Facebook select "Settings" and ensure "Show Notifications" is enabled.

As Ionic can receive notifications from other apps on your phone, tap App Notifications and make your choices. If an installed app is missing from the list, sync your device and then check again.

If the notifications are still not coming through, please check the article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone

Hope this helps, keep me updated! Robot Very Happy

FYI (I just discovered this today), note that notifications won't display when your device is locked, so if you have device lock enabled and haven't entered your PIN since the last time you put on your watch, you won't get notifications.

Relatedly, at least for me, sometimes my watch decides that I've taken it off and locks when it was on my wrist the whole time, so I suddenly stop receiving notifications on my watch and have no idea that's happened.

The reason why I have device lock enabled is because I use the wallet on my Ionic, and device lock is required when wallet is in use. However, I just discovered a few minutes ago that they recently added a new feature to the app that allows device lock to be enabled only for the wallet, so I just switched to that. Perhaps it'll help me miss fewer notifications.

Perhaps all this will help you as well. 😉

As I explained previously, these particular app notifications are set to
show on the phone however, regardless they are selected on the fitbit app
to show, they don't appear on the ionic watch. I cited a couple of apps as
examples.
