Hi my ionic has gone off and is not responsive. It was charged last night and had adequate charge left.I tried to restart it by pressing the buttons but nothing happened. I plugged it into the charger again still nothing no lights ir sign of charging. It was working perfectly well until a few hours ago. I have seen on the forum this seems to be a common problem at the moment.

How can it be resolved?

Hey @dafinn thanks for bringing this to my attention, I'm happy to give you a hand with your Ionic device and a warm welcome to the Community Forums too.

First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and time troubleshooting your Ionic prior to posting. To better assist you with this situation, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensor green lights are flashing or if your device is completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation. Even though you already tried the restart process, please try it again after taking in consideration the help article previously mentioned.

I'll be around if you need anything else.

Hi Ricardo.
Firstly can I ascertain how this forum works.  Do you read the question and respond appropriately or go from a list of automated answers first? I am not being rude just trying to avoid needless going over points already made.
As I did state in my question. I have tried the restart and suggested options you have mentioned.  To no avail. There are no lights whatsoever.
There is no sign of life even when I plugged it in to the charger again.
It us completely dead.
Thanks

dafinn,

This just happened to me yesterday.  I have tried reaching out to customer support in regards to the issue.  I have tried restarting it multiple times.  I have also tried multiple chargers and computers and still, nothing.  I wonder if this seems to be from an update? or if there are some that just go bad after X amount of time.

The same happened to me. I had a nearly full charge and it just stopped working and doesn't respond to anything.

The screen and green lights at the back are off and my phone can't sync. Charging it didn't do anything. I tried two charging cables and several USB chargers. I also tried cleaning the charging connector on my watch. I tried restarting it by pressing the back button and the bottom right button for over 15 seconds, which did not get any response. Also holding any (combination of) the other buttons did anything.

I tried contacting support on Tuesday, but so far haven't heard anything from them yet...

It does seem to be very common at the moment following an ap update.

Mine is only about 9 months old so it is not an age problem. Fitbit support are responding very slowly. It seems they are busy dealing with a lot of  complaints

The initial response of the support team took a while (4 working days), but after that, they responded quite fast on my messages. My Ionic was still under warranty and a new one is on its way now.

My ionic died on Sunday, contacted Fitbit Monday but no response as yet. Seems to be very common issue. A friends has done the same thing and apart from an initial email telling her to do a factory reset (which didn't work) she has heard nothing for over a week.

This happened to me as well this past weekend.  I was out of warranty and SOL.

I don't want to buy another Ionic until Fitbit has fixed this issue, as I don't want to have to budget for re-buying this device every year and a half.

Fitbit support have came back and are replacing it. It is still under warranty so hopefully this issue will be resolved and I don't have to go through this again.
