Mine was already turned on and I’m still not getting text notifications on my Ionic.

This is still a problem for me as well!

I should not have to have “show preview” turned on on my phone. That’s ridiculous! I’ve never had to do that for any Fitbit I’ve ever owned.

This doesn’t work for me.

I am as well, I have a Samsung S10+, using Samsung messages.  Used to get my text message notifications and now I'm not getting any of them.  I am getting phone call, email, and calendar reminders.  It's only not working for Samsung Messages.

So if notifications don’t work with other phones such as Samsung Fitbit blaming this on Apple and it’s resent iOS changes isn’t actually true, if it’s a notification problem across all phones it’s all down to Fitbit

Is there an actual resolution, besides Fitbit not keeping up with iOS development guidelines?

is there an update?

No resolution to my knowledge, yet. I honestly fear that there will not be one. Fitbit does not seem concerned with the issue...

Not to be one of those whining Internet warriors, but I just bought my son a tracker and it’s a Garmin 45. I didn’t buy him an Iconic because of issues just like this. These are issues indicative of a small development shop, Fitbit is supposed to be an industry leader.

I still have my Iconic, but not having the only notifications that actually matter to is not trivial.

Has this been resolved yet? I’m really starting to look at other options.

Mine was still sporadic. My Ionic finally stopped syncing with my phone altogether. I upgraded to the Versa 2. Knock on wood, no problems yet. But not holding my breath either.

If you need to, contact Fitbit and have them step you through the setup.
