My ionic is stuck in boot loop. I have tried hard resetting and factory resetting it and nothing happeaned. I have contacted customer support and they provided the same trouble shooting. After doing the same thing again. ( hard reset and factory reset) with no differance.
They told me my 400$ fit bit was out of warranty and that I can 40% off a new one. Has anyone achually got their ionic to work after this has happeaned? I'm pissed off that I spend 400$ when this tracker first came out just to have it **ahem** the bed a couple years later.

Unfortunately not, I couldn't find any way to resurrect my former Ionic after the bootloop, it is indeed bricked.
Are you in Europe? If so the warranty is, by law, 2 years.

No I'm in Canada. And they simply told me out of warranty go buy another
one. Like its expected to be disposable.

Same thing just happened to me. Stuck in boot loop, went through all the rebooting myself, still didn’t work. Called customer support and went through all the same actions with them. They just basically told me I’m out of warranty (I’ve had it 1 year and 4mo) and they will give me 40% off. I’m pretty livid they they won’t offer a replacement as it’s their failed software that’s causing the issue.

I'm in the exact same situation. My Fitbit suddenly stopped syncing, it clock was also losing time, so I decided to factory reset and clear data... but now in reboot loop. 1 year, 5 months. As if they were built with a timebomb... maybe time to switch back to Suunto or Garmin...

Same thing here. Boot loop after my screen was frozen. I reset it and now it won’t stop resetting. I’m 15 months in to this $400 watch and their telling me that I can get a discount on another one vs simply fixing their **ahem** product. Literally the most enfuriated I’ve ever been with a company. If they had told me last year that their product was going to break with no possible resolution - I simply would not have bought it.
I am posting mu my bad experience to every social media outlet I can...

I literally just had this happen today. I am 100% aware that I am post warranty, and I offered to pay for a repair, to which they answered that they are not able to repair these. So basically take my 1.5 year old $250 watch and throw it in the trash. Unbelievable. I don't expect to be able to walk into a store and have it fixed like an Apple watch, but I mean something other than throw it away and get another.

My ionic has started the boot loop issue today. Sometimes it shows my clock face or comes up with a clock error message then just keeps rebooting. When it settles down I cant use the touch screen to input my password then it goes back to rebooting continuously.
Now I've only had this fitbit ionic this year but it was a replacement for my previous one that had a faulty screen. They replaced it no problem but do I get a new 1 year warranty with the replacement or is it 1 or from when I purchased the old 1?
have just emailed Fitbit about it but may call tomorrow in the day.
Will let you guys know what happens

I'm stuck in a boot loop right now. It started out of nowhere, I changed nothing, but I've spent a few hours on this and nothing works. I just see the diamond logo boot screen or whatever, it flashes every 10 seconds or so and just repeats itself indefinitely.

Update: after emailing fitbit team they email through instructions for the process to do a master reset but still did not work.
Emailed them back and half hour later they gave me the option of 40% off an upgrade or have a new ionic free.
There was no issues and had I new one sent within 5 working days with the actual date and time of delivery.
I had fantastic, polite customer service from fitbit throughout.

Not exactly true......dont quote my user name on this either.
My wife brought my other one November 2017 as an xmas gift.
Obviously I didnt get it till December 2017 and it packed up working February 15th 2019.
I argued the fact that it was a £200 gift and I dont expect some state of the art technology to break down just outside its warranty. If it was a cheap £40 tracker then fair enough but £200 isnt classed as disposable.
I confirmed that I've had fitbit trackers for about 3 years and in honesty they have played a big part in my every day life.
I told them that I would move onto another smart tracker otherwise as I didnt want to be wasting my money. (Wifes money) i did say I'd rather have a fitbit anyway.
They decided to send me a new one which i got but that one only lasted 6 months until it failed with the boot loop. However I sent them a screen shot of the email this time of the replacement and it was so easy for me to have a new one recently. So I have 11 month warranty on this one. Hopefully it last with no further issues

Were you within a year from your initial purchase, or if you're in the EU it's 2 years.

15 months from initial purchase .
I am in the EU (currently until brexit)
However when I tried to claim they did say that it only has a 1 year warranty

Hello guys, thanks for your participation in the Community. I am sorry for the delayed response.
I appreciate the help, @Giampi71.
@nrawie, @billiam23 and @Azza09, upon checking with our support team, I was told that you have already contacted them. I know they will be glad to help you out and provide you a solution, just keep an eye on your inbox for further assistance.
@ATBA, have you tried to perform a factory reset? If you haven't, I recommend trying this by plugin in your device to the charging cable, while plugged in, press and hold all three buttons on your Ionic. This triggers the 2-button hardware reboot after some seconds (usually about 15 to 20 seconds). You will see that the static Fitbit logo appears on the screen and disappears after a couple of seconds. When it disappears, release the bottom right button and continue holding the left and top right button until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the reset was initiated.
I will see you around. 🙂
