Hi all,
I got a new Ionic to replace my Charge 2 and I am not getting any notifications to the watch. I have a Samsung Galaxy 7 edge and my notification bar on the phone says the notifications are running. I disabled the Charge 2 and have turned on my phone and Ionic along with doing all the other recommended steps. I am at a lose, my Charge 2 worked fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi @SunsetRunner
unfortunately message+ isn't working right now as "notification-provider".
seems like they've overseen some bits when moving to the new quick-reply feature.
try to use the stock messaging app till this is fiddled out.

Installed the update and a message will come through and then the next will not. I have exhaustedmy patience after 7 months of this. Fitbit shoukd have stayed with a fitness app and not tried to incorporate the smart phne apps! Wasted my money!!

I tried using the standard samsung messenger which is the stock for my phone, and i am having the same problem- also the samsung messenger doesn't offer the same features as my messenger+ so it's an inconvenience for me to change apps- Hopefully they will fix this soon seeing as how it has been supported all this time- they just need to send out a hotfix patch to rewind w.e. they left out in this new update- or give us the option to downgrade back to the old firmware-

It depends on the day and the time if I get my notifications. The update did nothing for me. I've restarted my watch almost every morning and I'll get notifications for a while and then they disappear again. Why can't they do something about Android phones and get this thing fixed? There has to be somebody that smart enough to fix this if they can come up with all the other stuff.

This is exactly what is going on with my ionic. For some reason I thought I was the only one experiencing this. I got this for Christmas gift and have experienced so much frustration. I mean, I want to love this watch but there's been so many things that keep happening.

That is exactly how I feel. I love the watch but I feel like I I hate it more for the problems it has.

This is exactly what is happening to me too. I got my Fitbit for Christmas and although getting it to sync and pair was quite a challenge I finally got it to work. Just recently after I upgraded the software my Fitbit has been unreliable. It stops recording my runs or biking activities in the middle of them and has not been giving me text notifications. This is extremely frustrating!

I must have tried this like 10 times and I'm not exaggerating.

I've only been furious since I purchased my Ionic in February, 2018. I've gone through three upgrades, including the upgrade from hell which try as i might, I couldn't get to upload using my Android 7.9 Moto 5G+, my Windows 10 desktop, Windows 10 laptop. I -finally- got the Ionic upgraded with my Windows 10 950xl Microsoft smartphone. As with many others, whether I'm using it with my Windows 10 or Android 7.0 smartphones, or deskto computers it is hit and miss unstable. Not just with notification reliability, but also with apps, including the weather app. Not to mention how annoying thier messages (you crushed, nailed, etc, etc, etc are).
After 4 months of frustration with my way overpriced, completely in-reliable, stepped with childish

@Hej_Dfound something substantial. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Not-receiving-Message-notifications-after-update/m-p/271...
have one unread notification. as soon as another contact sends you something, both notifications are available on the watch (even with quick reply - if your phone supports that).
anyone willing to proof that for Message+ ?
I could already confirm this works for Signal.

Hi, I had the same problem. The app kept asking me to restart bluetooth or restart phone but still didn't work. Finally I uninstalled the app, then reinstall it and notifications is then back to normal

I am at my last ounce of patience with this Ionic watch. I was completely happy with my Samsung Gear Fit 2. It has everything I need, including quick replies. Don't get me wrong, I was excited about the Ionic. Of course it has more exercise tracking and offers much much more than the Gear Fit2; however its not reliable! 😢 i am gonna give up on it and get my money back.

Finally after 7 months my notifications are working. Also the weather app is working now too. I guess the update fixed the problems.
