My Ionic has basically died. It won't turn on or charge at all. I've tried every combination of holding down the buttons for however many seconds to reboot it and it just stays blacked out and dead.
Yes, the contacts on the back are clean and not obstructed from getting a charge via the charging cord.
It's just a very expensive bracelet at this point. If I can't get this thing restarted, I'm never buying another fitbit product again and telling everyone I know to stay clear of this junk.
Any last chance suggestions for me?
Moderator edit: Subject for clarity
My iconic just did the exact same thing. I am not a happy customer right now. Just purcahsed this in January 2019. Also did the same troubleshooting steps. If it has happened to more than 1 person around the same time frame it is not an accident. Hopefully fitbit will help or replace the device
Well, I'm on the phone with Fitbit now and they are telling me I basically have to buy a new Ionic and the they wont replace it because my warranty expired on 4/16/19... a month ago.. so frustrated right now.... so many Ionics dying all at once is not just a coincidence ....
It's not a coincidence at all and something needs to be done for all of us that are having this issue. These are $300 smart watch and today they all seem to be having the same issue.
Same thing...my brand new Ionic lasted three days. Initiated a chat with a product specialist and they sent me an email with a link to order a replacement Ionic. No band, no charger...just the tracker. Told me that based on inventory, I might be getting a "refurbished" Ionic that was tested and cleared. Might show "minimal wear and tear". Got it a week later. Looked like it got kicked down three flights of stairs. Wrote them back. Asked me to sent photographs of damage. I did. Sent me another link to a replacement which might be "refurbished". Wrote them back asking for a brand new tracker. Sent me the same template email that they were sorry for the inconvenience, blah, blah. We all paid good money for these...send me a brand new one! I am not interested in another "refurbished" model. Why don't they understand this? It's a very simple transaction. Not a happy camper.
My Ionic died too. Charged it Wednesday night and last night it was dead. Will not turn on, charge, reset, or anything else. Very disappointed - received it less than two months ago. Love the thing when it works. Not sure what to do. I have made sure contacts are clean, all the button combinations have been pushed, and all other gyrations suggested by Fitbit. Nothing!
That is simply ridiculous! As customers you should receive your product as purchased... brand new. I totally understand not wanting a refurbish watch. I would not want it either.
Just charged my Ionic yesterday morning. Noticed that it was down to 10% last night when I was going to bed, so knew something was up but my charger was at work so just let it die.
When I 'charged' it this morning the screen came back on but is at 0% battery after over an hour being plugged in. Tried cleaning the connections and a different charger and still nothing.
Weird that this is happening to so many devises at once, was there a recent update or something?
Not that I know of. I personally did not have to do an update. My watch was fully charged an working up until this morning. My look alive alarm went off i just happen to check the time 30mins later and the screen was black. Even the app is still telling me that the watch is charged
Mine did that too, I did all the cleaning, changing power cords..let it sit for three days then decided to try cleaning around the contacts with a toothpick and it worked. Charged it up for a couple of hours and working like new! So happy now
