Ionic not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So this morning I got up and everything was working fine with the watch, went downstairs to watch some TV. At some point I checked it, and the screen would not come on. It continues to be unresponsive to any button press and the screen was black (off). Resets do not work, neither the two or three button press combos even get the logo to appear. I put it on the charger all morning but still no response on the button press.

This is happened as far as I can tell not related to any use, it just died. Any troubleshooting ideas? I’ve had it 13 months so of course the warranty just expired.

That's very good to hear. Most of us no longer have the green light, so
there are no more options to revive or trouble shoot. I was already on a
warranty replacement, and only 19-20 months from my original purchase. But
all they offered was 50% off a new purchase.

Thanks for getting back @JCM801 and @Smc72. Sorry for the delayed reply.

As mentioned above, rest assure that our Support team reviews each case individually and the option provided is based in the Fitbit Warranty. If there's any bug or anything with Ionic, this will be posted in the forums or in the Fitbit Blog.

Remember that if you have any question about the option you were given, you can contact our team back.

intermittent notifications... been comparing my ionic and my garmin,.. the biggest items is on my ionic notification stop working, I find that I have to turn it off and back on to make it work again.  This seems consistent that the notifications are either missing or stop working.  I am not sure if others see this but seems regular for me.

they won't do anything about it not working … they don't give a **ahem**.

I too am confused as to why you got a new one at 18 months old when I didn't qualify for a new one at 14 months old.  So upset, disappointed and frustrated with Fitbit.  Will never buy another.

All they offered me was 25% off a new one.  Fitbit could give a rats **ahem** about the consumer.  They've gotten their money from us suckers and are gong to keep it.  Bye Bye Fitbit.  I despise you!

I have not purchased nor been given another Fitbit ionic since mine died 7-22-19. I am currently trying an amazfit hip to see if it meets my needs and so far it is exceeding my expectations. I am concurrently trying to get my cc which I used to purchase my original ionic 18 months ago to provide me with a refund as stipulated they would do in that agreement.

Good luck I tried the same but because the Fitbit lawyers put in the caveat that software updates are not covered by the warranty my bank (Chase) refused my claim.

This just happened to me, too. My Ionic is only about 15 months old, and it quit working this morning. It was working at 4am and was dead next time I checked at 5:20am. It had 77% charge when i went to bed last night. Cleaned the charger connections really well, tried the factory resets, and left it charging all day. Nothing but a black screen. Please advise. Thank you!

Thanks. Yeah, figured it would be a long shot. But I have to give it a try.

Throw it in the trash like I just did mine. And buy a Garmin. Fitbit wont help and are dishonest 🤷‍:male_sign:

Hi

I have no idea why either- I’d be as angry as everyone else on here if they hadn’t.

To be honest, after reading ALL the negative responses here I didn’t like my chances, but they sent me a replacement and so far so good..

Its insane they aren’t replacing all of them, I wouldn’t have bought another one either.

Have only heard great things about Garmin but why should you have to buy another one?

Good luck

Hi

the only thing I can think of is the light (green) at the back was still working- perhaps it was my screen & that’s why they replaced it?

I’m shocked they replaced it - quickly & I didn’t even have to send mine back- strange !

Just happened to me... I was syncing my music and after I'm finally done rearranging my folders Fitbit Connect tells me there is an issue, the Ionic wouldn't turn on with any buttons with any combination. I saw the charge at 95% before I started, plus it's plugged into the computer during the sync. I want to break down, I have only had it since December 2018 ( 8 months ) and bought off of Amazon. I just want my watch working again.

Ive tried for about 3 weeks. I keep hoping a different service rep will do the right thing and I have had zero luck. At this point, its not worth my lost time. I went back to my old Blaze that is still working. Once it dies, I'm throwing the scale and blaze in the trash with all my other dead fitbit items and going for garmin I guess. It's too bad Ive loved getting my badges and friend network, etc. I'll be starting from scratch with Garmin, but Fitbit has had the worst customer service.
