I love my Fitbit Ionic, unfortunately, there is something seriously wrong with the bluetooth functionality of this device.
I use a Jabra Elite Active 65t headset, which I have paired the Fitbit with successfully previously. Unfortunately, the pairing was lost after pairing the headset with another device and I needed to re-pair the fitbit and headset.
This simply fails. The Fitbit finds the device, but the wheel just keeps spinning when I try to pair, while the headset keeps telling me to pair with a device.
I can pair the headset to my phone, iPad and computer without any issues, only the fitbit has problems.
I have had these problems several times.
I've tried rebooting the fitbit, resetting the headset, no difference. The only thing that works is to factory reset the Fitbit. The problem with this approach is that it takes forever, as you have to reinstall and resync everything. I didn't exactly want to spend 2 hours to reconfigure my watch when I was going to go on a run 5 minutes ago.
Is there anyway I can clear the Fitbit bluetooth configuration without resetting the device completely? (I don't mean deleting the device from the list, I've done that, the problem it still refuses to pair the headset).
This is really completely ruining my experience with the watch that I can listen to music when I run.

I eventually found a workaround, pairing my right earphone to my phone and then pairing my left earphone to my Fitbit finally worked. They work now (in stereo) whether I'm paired to Fitbit or phone. I don't understand why it should pick one earphone over the other. Im not changing anything just in case. Not ideal but working, which I'll settle for at this stage.

This is exactly my experience and my feeling. All the other messages suggesting fantastic remedies look to me a bit naive and not realistic...the issue seems so easy to me. I was able to pair my headset and now not... thanks for any proper fix.

Hi, how do you pair the left one only?

The way to pair with my headphones is to press on the outside of the earbud to connect, which looks for bluetooth devices and pairs with them. I turned off every other bluetooth device withing range to try this. It recommends taking out the right earbud first from the storage / charging case and pairing that. Then, when removing the left one from the charging case, it will connect automatically to the right one and hey presto !! stereo sound. This never worked so I tried it the other way round and it worked perfectly since. Not sure if this will be any help to anyone else but it worked for me.

Hi Ricardo,
Do you have a solution that will solve the problem on this issue?
Earbuds still does not want to pair at all. Not one of the proposed solutions work.
Is there a fix going in and when?
Kind regards,
Andre

Try factory reset your Fitbit and pair your right earbud only keep the left earbud in it's case..
The trick is to ***PAIR EARBUD BEFORE THE FITBIT UPDATE**

Hi RicardoFibit
21-09-2019, I was felt down when I am running with left hand is Inoic and right hand is Samsung S8 ( to listen music); after all, my S8' screen was broken !!! If Inoic work with good function and can pair with my earbud - I did not lost money to fix my S8 screen.
My believing was lost...

Hi guys
Had exactly same issue with the ionic and the 65T
Was less than impressed with the Support...full of customer massage platitudes all corporate types are now coached to use...annoying as hell but zero fi
I found a soultion.
After getting it paired, at the end of session ya need to do 2 things.
hold the R button down till you see purple and put bud back in case AND Remove jabra from the bluetooth connection list
Next time it pairs straight up
Painful patheric and poor on the part of Fitbit to leave us dangling

Eventually had to find the solution myself also. Fed up with uninstall and reinstall the app, restart the phone, restart fitbit, delete the bluetooth connection, restart bluetooth. Well done for persisting, troubleshooting (or caring) is not the best with this company

Leave the right earbud in the case and get the phone to try and find the left one only....

I started a similar thread. Got an answer from @RicardoFitbit. In a nutshell, they are aware of the issue. No solution yet.
