Ionic's firmware isn't updating

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The firmware update is appearing to be held up due to lack of bluetooth connectivity.  Not working over wi-fi.

Using IOS - Apple phone only got my fitbit today.  Not able to use it until it has updated completely.  Unsure if there is some kind of issue with the watch?  Is this an issue for all Apple users

My third ionic has once more given up the ghost before reaching its third birthday! That’s me and Fitbit finished. Good luck to you all

I’ve tried every suggestion and left it at “downloading” over night. Still cannot set up my new Ionic. What is a true fix? Can this be plugged into a PC?

I’ve tried Fitbit Connect on my Mac. I get an alert that says Ionic and Versa can only be updated on mobile devices.

I tried everything they said and talked to them multiple times. No fix or satisfaction. My son got an apple watch and gave me his versa. When i get a new one it will not be a Fitbit

Not just Apple Phones! Why can't FitBit get the updates right!! I'm on the 2nd WATCH which was kindly replaced after their update a YEAR or so ago bricked my watch. Now the new watch not even a YEAR old is just constantly playing up not finding device!! Love the idea of Ionic and even look isn't to bad, but am so over bugginess of app and watch after updates!!! Might put the WHOLE story down if I'm even bothered to!!!

I wish you'd get your updates right! Looks LIKE you've JUST about bricked my second REPLACEMENT FitBit Ionic!!!

For most of the life of my Ionic, I've had nothing but connection issues (ie- not being able to update). However, recently I have been leaving the Bluetooth connection on my phone ON all the time and that seems to have fixed my issues. Not everyone wants to leave BT on constantly, but if you want to update, it's something you might want to try until it does let itself be updated.

Hi it has updated to 27.70.7.14!

Since the update it constantly comes up with "No Device Found!" I turn the IONIC off in settings then it takes ages and pressing either two or all three buttons for it to not even turn on at all!? Then I'll find it on and working it seems to have synched and then the time slowly loses  correct time!

This happened just a little under a YEAR ago with my FIRST Ionic watch due to another FIRMWARE UPDATE.

That watch was replaced with this one worked ok until this latest update! The rigmarole I had to go through with just to get it working to find out somehow the update had frazzled the watch!!!

As it just would not keep in synch!!

It is frustrating and as it is CLOSE to specials! I will have to go away from FitBit sadly; enjoyed it!

Seems Google wants subscription fees so maybe getting rid of older devices, killer code???

Anyway thanks for advice if I get it working AGAIN? I may take your advice on the Bluetooth and keep it on...

I reported it to Fitbit. Basically they told me that there are some issues and that they are working on it.

I am trying not to move to an Apple Watch. My iconic died one day and I had to replace it. If I have another issue I am switching
