Ionic stopped working

Went to bed with 85% charge. Woke up with a dead watch. Will not take a charge or reset. Tried all the fixes , nothing works. Was a Great watch while it lasted. Bought June 06/2019. Not very good for a $300.00 watch. Now what? replace with another FitBit or look eldewhere?

Very similar issue, went to bed with 61% charge woke up with zero. Sleep record indicates battery died at approx 4am so lasted maybe 5 hours. This is the third night in a row this has happened. Also (not sure if connected) but has become very unresponsive. Screen should come on when turn wrist. This has almost completely stopped and instead I have to try repeated tapping and pressing of buttons to get any indication of life! This has happened since last update so can’t help thinking it isn’t a coincidence…

Same problem here. It can't be a coinicidence that all of our devices die while we're sleeping. I charge mine every morning when I'm in the shower. This is the third Ionic we've bought that this has happened with, so I might be done with this brand.

Is it possible that we bump something in our sleep that causes the battery to drain or malfunction?

Mine died yesterday too!!  It's now not charging,  I've cleaned the back.  It connects properly to the charger and if I press the button when connected it shows the standard 0% battery screen, but when not connected it has blank screen. So I guess problem with the watch rather than the charger 😡

Same issue. Prior to it not responding, it would not count my steps, run, or heart rate. What to do fitbit?

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately the team that contacted me, seemed to think I wanted a discount off a new Fitbit, rather than a solution to the problem! My Fitbit is outside the warranty period and when they realised that they offered me money off a new one. But these issues are sudden and are either a software issue or a failing battery. I have updated the app and the watch and have turned off the SpO2 clock, which clearly causes some of the problems. The battery still died over last night, so how do I get a new battery and/arrange to have it tested? Thanks

This seems to be an software or a push to buy a new one. They seemed to have stopped all of Iconics. Battery changes in these systems are not possible to the public. Very similar to apple forcing you to update. I loved the iconic, it's all that you want in a fitness watch.

Yep I've been told "such situation is not covered by our replacement policy. We're still hoping that you accept this discount offer that we have for you."

So a £200 watch dying 18 months after you receive it, and it not being able to charge at all is not covered by their replacement policy, but I can have 35% off a replacement!   Bye bye fitbit, as this is the second time an expensive watch has conveniently died outside its warranty policy, I think its time to go elsewhere which is a shame as I loved my Ionic!

I've considered the same. I want a fitness watch. Mot necessarily a super smart one, hence fitbit.

Same boat here...Ionic was fine and then just died randomly. Got the "out of warranty; here is 35% off" email and honestly...if you can't put your worth behind your product for 2 years...why would I go back to you?

Same thing literally happened to mine last night! Worked perfect until 7pm last night. Then it started glitching. Screen froze and then went black. The red sensor light on the back kept flashing. I had fully charged it yesterday morning. Now there’s zero life to it at all. My guess is Fitbit shut down all the Ionics to try to force people still with them to buy another. With the price of everything now a days, that’s NOT going to happen. Too bad because I really loved my Fitbit!

Samething happened to me last year. No explanation from fitbit.

Why am I not surprised. I’m suspecting they shut them down remotely. I’ve been reading a ton of people having the same issue since the end of May.

@AmyLB74  and @mlbshop  this thread is over a year old and was before the Ionic was under a voluntary recall - so click to read more about it. Fitbit is giving a refund to Ionic owners.

That is good to know. They did not give me this information when it died last year. Thanks.
