My ionic was working great and then the battery died the other day. I plugged it in to charge and came back a few hours later and it still says 0% when you press a button. It has now been on charge for 3 days and still says 0%. I have tried wall chargers and running it off the laptop USB but still nothing! I can't reset or do anything as there is no battery life! Help!

Same problem here. It happened once before and a hard reset worked for about another two months, now I'm back to the same issue and nothing works this time. I called tech support and after several attempts at doing the same thing, they basically told me to buy a new one. It is only 18 months old. Good luck with customer support. I hope their responses to you are better than I received.

I've said this on a few posts. The different charger you tried probably had a higher current (amperage) output that was enough to "kickstart" an aging battery that dropped too low in volts. As these batteries age it's important NOT to let the battery drain below 5 or 10% before charging. A new battery can handle it, but with an older battery the Ionic doesn't know the true battery condition - so the device can suddenly power off due to a depleted battery even though it reports it as still having a few percent charge left.

Unfortunately, I never saw that info re the charger. The person from Fitbit should have told me, though! Yes, I still have issues if I let the battery drop too low. So, I try to charge my ionic as soon as the "low battery" comes on. Thank you!

Have had the ionic for 5 days. Tried to charge last night and it wouldn’t charge. Cleaned contacts, tried different wall outlets, factory reset, etc. and it won’t get past the 0% screen. Very disappointing. At this point best to return to store?

I did contact tech support and after various trials and rebooting both iPhone, watch, it now is working. But it’s 5 days. That doesn’t give me a great deal of confidence in the product.

My fitbit arrived earlier today and hasn't moved off of 0% charge despite 6+ hours of trying with different outlets, cleaning the pins, trying to connect to my phone, trying restarts etc. Can this be fixed or should it just be returned?

Can’t be fixed.
When it is new it can’t be . I’ve had a few!
If you wipe it and it works and then it stops working , it will probably be
fickle

Hi, I just bought a new fitbit versa 2 and have the same problem.
I got from USA and arrived with 0% battery. Its charging for hours and still at 0%...
Is there anything that can be done?

Explain something for me. If the Ionic won't charge how does plugging it in(which should charge it, but doesn't) and then trying to turn on a dead device solve any problems. There is no charge and it is not taking a charge. Try again.

Ended up binning it and buying another one, third time I have had to do this! Looks like that is how they make money, these things are obviously designed to only last so long before having to be replaced!

Holding down all 3 buttons brought my Ionic back to life, charging now, thanks.
