Ionic stuck on 0% and won't charge

My ionic was working great and then the battery died the other day. I plugged it in to charge and came back a few hours later and it still says 0% when you press a button. It has now been on charge for 3 days and still says 0%. I have tried wall chargers and running it off the laptop USB but still nothing! I can't reset or do anything as there is no battery life! Help!

No, I got my Iconic charged properly by the method I enclosed. I bought another Ionic watch and have it ready in case of failure. When I bought the first watch, Best Buy did not offer any warranty at that time. Besides, it was two years ago. If you are getting a red "0" like everyone else, try charging it from another source that has a charging indicator. If the charging indicator light is on and is charging, wait until the charge is complete and then try starting your watch.  There is no way to tell by your watch if it is charging while the screen is dead. If the watch cannot be charged at all, you should get a new one.  I did the firmware update last week and I'm fine. So, I'm okay and happy.

Mine recently did that  and while it said 0 for hours after having it plugged in and trying all types of different outlets. I plugged it in and did a hard reset by pushing and holding all 3 buttons until the screen turns off and then back in with the fit bit logo. Once I did that I waited for a bit and when I checked my screen was back to normal saying that it was at 11% and charging. I hope this helps

Mine is doing this. It would come on if it was plugged in so I did the factory reset but now I can't set up my watch because it wants an update and I have insufficient battery. How do I reach customer service

This issue happened to me for the first time after Ionic update in January 2020.

Last time I was able to recover my device:

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Ionic/Won-t-charge-after-new-firmware-update/m-p/3995619/highlight/t...

However, this time in May 2020 - my Ionic died for real:

- Same issue resurfaced - 0% and not charging after a fresh update.
- Then I was able to revive it with a 3-buttons reset - it showed 89% charge.
- Then (silly me) - I factory-reset it thinking it's gonna make it better. Wrong! I got into state where it's immediately showing 0% again, but this time - since I triggered the factory-reset of it, I am unable to get to FitBit logo screen no matter what.

I am silly enough that now I bought another replacement Ionic (my old one was already out of warranty.

There is something wrong with the updates and 0% charge.

If it’s still under warranty contact Fitbit support for replacement

It's not. It is NOT OK for FitBit to brick old devices with a firmware update, then offer 25% as a consolation..

Mine worked only when plugged in.. but never went above zero and shut off
the second i unplugged it. The reset (all three buttons til you see a
symbol while plugged in) would turn it on. I was out of my warranty and
they offered me 25% off but that's annoying when you pay so much in the
first place.... So I just left it plugged in to my computer and when about
my life. 2 days later and it was attempting to charge. Not really sure if
that's a science or not but try just plugging it into a computer and
ignoring it a few days

Mine had the same issue and I ended up connecting the usb charge cord to my smart battery charger then this makes no sense but I restarted my phone that it connects with and it started charging.

@Haggischap,

With the Ionic connected to a charger AND 0% on the display have you held ALL 3 buttons in until the Fitbit logo appears? Probably 10 or 20 seconds.

Doesn't seem to work unless the 0% is displayed on the screen.

This is really worrying to hear and tbh, if this happens to me, I’m done with Fitbit. I’ve had umpteen replacements in the past, although to be fair, not with the ionic.
