Ionic time zone won't update

My ionic will not update to the current time zone regardless of how many times I try to sync.

The watch is useless if you can't get it to tell the correct time.

How do you make the watch show the correct time if syncing with with the app does not do it??

I've been working on this exact issue for 2 days now.  The problem I found was everyone knew the answer (change the time on your online account) but no one gave the EXACT instructions on where to go.  I pretty tech savvy and could not figure out where in the Fitbit Dashboard the setting to change the time zone setting.  It took 2 days.  Save yourself the hassle... Login - Click on the "Gear" on the upper right side (which is view settings) - Click on your device - Left side click on Personal Info - Scroll until you see Time Zone - Select the correct time zone.  Next - Restart your Fitbit watch.  I have the Ionic so all 3 buttons pressed until you get the blue fitbit logo and then release.  Next - go to the Fitbit App on your phone. Sync it.  This is what worked for me after trying for 2 days restarting, removing, googling, reading and just shear frustration.  I hate and love fitbit since 2014.  When it works it's awesome but when it doesn't it is the most difficult piece of tech to troubleshoot!

This is ultimately what fixed my issue with my time not updating!
My battery died last night and then when I charged it back to full today the time was wrong. Syncing/removing/adding from phone/restarting etc etc wouldn't work.

What finally worked was taking your advice and tweaking it a little bit. I changed the time zone to mountain time, then restarted, then synced in the app and it fixed the time. I then switched back to my regular time zone, restarted and synced in the app and it actually put me on the right time now.

If only the battery wouldn't die so quickly these days : (

Try restartimg it. Left hand and right bottom buttons. Hold until the logo comes up. Let us know if that does it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it did not work. Restarted and then synced and the time is still incorrect.

Your phone's timezone and country is correct?

Yes.  Phone is absolutely correct.  Only issue is with the Ionic.

Same issue happened to me today. I had to turn on location on my android phone then open fitbit app, choose ionic and hit sync manually synced the time. It's ridiculous, I owned few smart watches already and never seen issue like this.

Same problem! Did restart the watch. Tried a laptop, an iPad and my phone. Who are all on the correct Timezone!

Same issue here. Ionic, LG G4 Android 6.0.

I just spent an hour trying to fix this myself. Go into your online fitbit account and update your time zone under the settings. Once you have done this, go into the app and sync your ionic with the app. Hopefully, this works for you as it did just mine.  The ionic is the first of my fitbit that have struggled with updating the time correctly even when time zones and updates for current time were selected.

Ensure that you go to advanced settings in the app and turn on "use network provided time"

I apologize for the late response, but has anyone checked to see that their time zone settings on the Fitbit account are accurate?  This will be what the device is tied to when it syncs.

I've found two ways to solve the time off of the ionic:

Either go to your online dashboard and manually change the time zone on your profile every time you travel.

or

You can go to fitbit app > account tab > advanced settings, and make sure set automatically is turned on.

If you have the set automatically, the time should update every time you sync the ionic with your phone.

Hope this helps.

This worked on my watch, but my question is, am I going to have to do this every time I change time zones? I travel a lot, and it is going to be a huge inconvenience for me to have to do this every time I change time zones

I have mine set so that it syncs to whatever time zone my phone is in, which also changes automatically.

This is how I have always done it with every other Fitbit I have used, and I have never had a problem.  However, I just got the Ionic 5 days ago and it just will not update to the current time zone.

I've traveled a lot, even out of the country and never had any issues with it.
