Ionic time zone won't update

My ionic will not update to the current time zone regardless of how many times I try to sync.

The watch is useless if you can't get it to tell the correct time.

How do you make the watch show the correct time if syncing with with the app does not do it??

After several frustrating days, I figured out how to get my ionic to sync to the right time zone. You have to log into the web page (not the app) to fix it. Go to the settings area, near your personal profile. Under advanced settings you’ll find “time zone.” Pick your right one and then re-sync your device. Hope that helps!

I've found two ways to solve the time off of the ionic:

Either go to your online dashboard and manually change the time zone on your profile every time you travel.

or

You can go to fitbit app > account tab > advanced settings, and make sure set automatically is turned on.

If you have the set automatically, the time should update every time you sync the ionic with your phone.

Hope this helps.

Look that is nice that fixed it but customer service from Fitbit is the worst.  They don’t even monitor there community for the problems with their devices.  I’m done, going to return this not smart watch.

Open the app on your phone.

Top right is a small icon that looks like a rolodex card (rightside of the watch icon).

Click it, Then scroll down to Advanced settings.

Rest should be clear.

I tried both methods to reset the time on my ionic.  It still does not change.  I'll probably have to delete the device and start over.  Pretty poor design.

I went and set my iPhones to update the time zone automatically.  The Fitbit corrected and I turned the auto tune zone off.

I was very upset when I came across this issue late for work. My solution was the clock face app. I had changed the clock face to a 3rd party app. After checking timezone settings both on the watch and my online account, syncing, and restarting the watch. My time was still showing incorrectly.

I then recalled that I had changed the Clock face to a new face. When I went to reset the clock face app it posted an error that it would not connect. I changed back to a clock face provided by FitBit and the time shows correctly and updates by timezone.

My recommendation no 3rd party apps.

Had an interesting event this morning - recently traveled from Pacific to Central time zone over the week-end.   Discovered on the flight I couldn't change my time zone (just recently purchased my Ionic) but it switched when I was able to activate my phone again when we landed.   Anyway, this morning, my Ionic reverted back to Pacific time while I am still in Central time.   Tried everything - reboot phone, watch, turn bluebooth on/off....ended up on tech support for an hour.    To resolve - I had to remove my device from the fitbit app and set it up again.   Since I have the app on my phone (android) and ipad, I had to turn off the bluetooth on the ipad so I could set it up on the phone....the tech explained I had bluetooth interference but it doesn't explain why.....it rolled back.   Hoping they develop a better way to set time zone, I like to change my watch before I reach my destination.

Sure, droutt, you can change the Time Zone anytime you want to anything you want to. Go to Fitbit.com on either your phone or computer and click on the Gear Icon at the upper right and then on Settings.  Scroll down to Time Zone and make your selection.  You have probably already been trying this but you need to also scroll on down the page and click on Submit and then sync your tracker for the change to take effect.

I know this thread is now old but figure I’ll respond because it could help other users in the future and I didn’t see my quick fix for this issue listed in the responses:

RESTART THE APP ON YOUR PHONE.

I’ve had the time/update issue frequently and I figured out that an app reboot fixes it immediately.   This is a much faster solution than anything I see listed here.
