I upgraded to the Ionic from the Blaze in the hope that the music support would be better. After a few hours of messing around with WiFi, restarting the FitBit and the laptop several times and so on, I finally got everything working. I am dumbfounded that the volume buttons on the FitBit have no effect on the volume of my Sony MDR-XB70BT bluetooth earbuds. I can control their volume fine from my Android phone, but the point of using the FitBit was that I could leave the phone behind.
Please could you make the volume controls functional? It currently doesn't matter how hard or how often I press the on-screen +/-. Nothing happens.

Are you sure you’re playing music from the Ionic and not the phone? If the volume is controlled by the phone it would suggest the source is the phone. Check the source in the music settings on the Ionic.

Yep, definitely coming from the music files that it took me hours to upload using WiFi (once I found an access point that the Ionic worked with). I promise, I would not have wasted my time with the WiFi if I had just wanted to use the phone.
The source shows the FitBit highlighted, not the phone.

I have the same problem! The volume control doesn’t work with music playing from my ionic.
When I choose source phone and play music on my iphone I don’t see anything on my watch. How do I solve this?

This got better for me after a firmware upgrade to the Ionic.

Nice to see you on the Forums @10538, @Jamie_Henshaw and @koentje, thanks for reporting this issues with your Fitbit Ionic.
Thanks for the help @SunsetRunner.
Please restart your Ionic with the following steps and check if your Fitbit App and device are up to date as @koentje suggested.
If you recently listened to music stored on your watch, you may need to change the source to your phone:
Thanks for checking that! Hope this helps.

That doesn't work (on my Ionic). Switching sources back and forth gave me volume control for about two seconds, then it went back to full blast. Unusable. Headphones are AirPod Pro with an Ionic I bought this week and updated firmware.
